“good especially tourist info”
good place to stay. hotel staff extremely knowledgeable about tourist sites, costs and times, even in Esterhaza, Hungary. very polite & helpful. good food at the restraunt. the only negative I have is about the restraunt. after you sit down order drinks & begin to read the menue, there is a 2.50 euro service charge per person over and above the price of the food & drinks and a tip is expected of 10%
“Comfortable, but dated”
I stayed at the Bellevue hotel for three days with my girlfriend, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It's nominally a 4-star hotel, but that hardly seems justified overall. While the rooms were nice, everything was a bit dated and could use freshening up. The carpets, paintings, furniture, etc. all looks like they've seen better days. That said, the room was very large and bright. It was very well located, directly on the D tram to the city center and only a few minutes away from the U-bahn. Overall I highly recommend the hotel for people who want a very nice, and affordable hotel near the city center. If you're used to 4-star pampering, however, look elsewhere (though expect to pay much more for it!).
“Aren't what they used to be.”
This WAS a great place, once. It is obviously a hotel used primarily by Europeans. The food was fine, and the young employees were delightful.
“Nice place; would go there again”
It is a well kept older hotel right next to a street car/train station and a short walk from the subway. We arrived by eurail and they were very helpful explaining how to get there from the train station (a couple of miles away). The room was nothing to write home about, but it was clean and provided the basics. We did not eat there because the food was overpriced. As tourists we needed a place to sleep only- not a full dining experience.
“This is not a 4 star hotel as claimed”
This is basically a 2 to 3 star hotel in international terms. When you ask them for an iron they say it is forbidden to give irons to rooms. To make your ironing they than direct you to the laundry room of the hotel where they do the usual washing for clients. IU have never expereinced this in any other hotel in 40 or so countries I have traveleld to. Some employees are OK while others are terrible. In dealing with them you feel in a prison rather than in a hotel.
“Decent hotel to stay at away from the city center”
This hotel is close to the subway station so the city center is only a few stops away. It is also close to a grocery store, so you can buy food at cheaper prices. The hotel itself is old, but it rather large and the rooms are rather spacious for european standards. The lighting in the room is not the best, not a lot of lighting. The TV is small but still good enough to watch with. There is air conditioner which was a plus especially in the summer. The staff was friendly and spoke English. I would recommend this hotel if you want to stay away from the city center, but suggest finding another place if you can get a better price.
“Friendly staff”
Rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
“Would stay at this hotel again”
Hotel location was good for rail svc. Breakfast was expensive, but very good. We did have breakfast in cafe across the street, less expensive. Dinner in the hotel dining room was very good, but,to our surprise, there was a per person cover charge. Concierge wasn't the most friendly we've met. We would stay at this hotel again.
“Not a 4 starts”
The most should be 2 stars. Rooms although big they smell like very old, no coffee machine, TV is really really small and old. BTW of the coffee machine, I asked the receptionist and his answer was... oh not allowed - fire danger.... you know(?!!) Lame. Not a 4 starts hotel by any stretch of imagination. Very disapointed custmer.
“Nothing special”
This is an ok budget hotel, hotel and rooms are very old. Price for hotel parking (in the back yard) is outrageous 20 euro per day. Next time I go to Vienna, I will choose another hotel.
