Museum quarters location, excellentPosted Aug 25, 2013
Great location for all the sites in the inner stadt. Comfy rooms, appearance is old, so it is, but still very nice. Breakfast selection not so great comparatively.

Great location, good service, geat value for moneyPosted Jan 1, 2013
Pros: Location, Great value for money, great beds
Cons: Noise from a nearby nightclub
Location: Superb location for the Museum Quarter and most major sights
The hotel was booked for its proximity to the Museum Quarter, when we arrived I thought the hotel was modest, but we wee very surprised, the hotel room was very comfortable with a super bath/shower room, the beds were superbly comfortable, the buffet breakfast was nothing special but it was of good quality an plenty of it. Overall we were very pleased with the Hotel Admiral, one issue was the late night noise on two nights out of four from a nightclub across the road from the front of the hotel

Okay hotel but good value, worth the location!Posted Aug 9, 2012
The hotel was a bit "old school" but worth the price. There was no air conditioning but big windows. Excellent location right behind the Museum Quarter and Mariahilfer Strasse. Street of hotel itself is nice and quiet. Walking distance from many landmarks. Free breakfast is okay, not great. Hotel is really huge! Had to walk down many hallways to get to room.

Pros: close to city center
Cons: lack of competent cleaning staff
Location: near main street Mariahilfestrasse
Rooms should be ready by noon so that a guest returning from a walk in the morning say should have clean towel after a shower. One day they skipped cleaning altogether.

ok hotel, shame about the guests.Posted Mar 29, 2012
Pros: helpful staff
Cons: rowdy school parties
Location: good location for centre of Vienna - within walking distance of main attractions and set on quiet side street.
hotel clean but basic. Breakfast adequate. Hotel was used for 2/3 nights we stayed by rowdy school groups who thought it was fun to run amuck at 2-3 in the morning. Staff did offer us another room to try and improve situation, but the students kept up their rowdiness.

Great location, value and service - dont need vistaPosted Nov 4, 2011
Despite the apparent invisibility of this hotel (in a sidestreet with no view ) it is fabulously placed for all your siteseeing needs. A quick walk to the museum quarter, the state opera, the shopping district and many of the best restaurants in town. The reception was extremely helpful, multi linqual - good recommendations for restaurant. Breakfast staff helpful despite the lanquage difference - we had her laying an egg to ask if we wanted eggs,

Hotel Admiral - ViennaPosted Jun 8, 2011 on Hotels.com
A combination of a room which is not air-conditioned, very warm (high 20s) conditions and no explanation of how to operate the modern casement windows in the room was rather unsatisfactory. To non-Europeans the operation of these windows is not very obvious. These windows can operate as casement windows which was needed in the warm conditions. They can also open as hopper windows (with only a small opening at the top) which is how the staff will always leave them in case it rains. A printed explanation near the windows would be very helpful..

Convenient locationPosted Mar 19, 2011
We were within easy walking distance of 2 underground stations. We could easily walk into central Vienna. The hotel was functional, there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but a teapot of hot water was available from reception and there was a fridge in the room. a good choice for a city break in Vienna.
