“Excellent Choice - Great Location”

Everything the hotel can control was excellent. Very clean; great hot breakfast with eggs cooked to order; and helpful English-speaking staff. The location, directly across from St. Stephen's, is very convenient. Its central location in the Ring makes it easy to walk to any place within or near the Ring. And, for outlying sites, such as Schonbrunn Palace, there is a subway station adjacent to the hotel which provides for easy access. Our only suggestion is that if you are a light sleeper, you may wish to book an interior room without a view of Stephansplatz since there can be a bit of noise from people in the plaza (which excludes vehicles). Our only request of the hotel is that, in the future, they consider acquistion of some queen beds which my wife and I prefer to the two twin beds pushed together. But, only a quibble.

“Great”

It was our weekend trip which justified all expectations, very good location near Opera, Art historical museum and traditional cuisine restaurants, one of them is opened till 2 a.m that is convenient for late guests

“Absolutely Terrific, Cannot be Beat!”

Terrific hotel in every way. Superb service, individual attention to every detail. Room was wonderful..modern, large, great bed, wonderful sheets, large marble bathroom. Location is the best is all of Vienna. Staff is very helpful, totally attentive. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Better than the 5 stars hotels near the Opera.

“Geat location in Vienna!”

We stayed at Hotel Am Stephansplatz in Vienna for four nights in August. The hotel is conveniently located in St. Stephan’s square and is literally steps away from the underground railway entrance. It was very easy to arrive by train from the airport. I do not recommend trying to arrive by car, as the location is mostly pedestrian streets and parking is expensive. We were grateful the hotel had air conditioning, as we visited during a heat wave with temperatures over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Our room was on the small side but the bathroom was large and modern. My only complaint is that it lacked a shower enclosure, which made for a wet floor, but that is hardly a deal-breaker. Breakfast includes eggs cooked to order and cappuccino or espresso if you ask. The front desk staff was polite and helpful and there is a computer and printer available in the lobby. The breakfast/bar area has a stunning view of St. Stephen’s.

“Perfect location, but overpriced.”

It is an absolutely ideal location. The bathroom was very large and breakfast was very good. However, the ac was not adequate for august, the temperature in the shower changed to near scalding several times and the shampoo really knotted my hair.

“More than we hoped for”

We knew we had a central location in a beautiful spot near St. Stephen's Cathedral and that the price was right. But am Stephensplatz was more than that: our corner view took in the whole cathedral and the square below. It was awesome to hear the bells pealing on Saturday night. The bath had a tub and shower, along with great lighting. And the service was superb. The desk personnel had answers to every question and suggestions for the best way to get where we wanted to go. Finally, breakfast was wonderful and available for several hours every morning.

Stephensplatz--gorgeous view, center city near luxury shopping and beautiful buildings, steps from the metro.

“Heated bathroom floor!”

Other reviewers will note the great location of this hotel, steps away from the underground and Stephansdom. The nicest surprise was that the bathroom floor was heated. My mom (in her 60s) and I stayed in a double room, and were so very pleased with the location, the hospitality, the breakfast selection - everything. This was our first stop of 3, and this hotel set the stage for a great trip! We stayed in February, and the room temperature was perfect, too. The windows were sound-proofed. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.
