“Better than expected”

Excellent hotel, located on a narrow, pedestrian street (Josefhasse). It is across the street from Rathaus Metro exit (there is another entrance just 300 m away). Safe area. Comfortable hotel. I got a room upgrade because I was Expedia Plus. Internet is tricky.. the give you access with a data limit. If you run out of data, you need to get another password. But it was good and fast. Staff had some problems when checking in and out. Their English is a bit limited and need to be supervised constantly. But they are very nice. Just that a hotel this big needs to have staff that is not co-dependent on supervisors.

“Wonderful Winter Getaway”

I had a wonderful time at the Mercure Josefshof Wien. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and made my little winter getaway from the Emirates so pleasant. I traveled to Vienna to find Christmas. This hotel was located within walking distance of many Christmas markets and museums. I would recommend this establishment highly.

“Good Choice”

This is a very nice hotel in an excellent location. The rooms were spacious and quiet. The front staff was very helpful in finding restaurants for us on Christmas eve. We skipped the expensive breakfast buffet and ate in a very nice coffee shop down the street.

“Delighted and will definitely return!”

Especially noteworthy was the service we received after we discovered, upon arriving at our next destination, that we had left several items in the room safe at the Josefshof. When we contacted the staff, they went above and beyond the call to ensure that our valuables were retrieved and snet to us via DHL overnight the next day!

“Very nice experience!”

The room was very nice and the staff was pleasant and helpful. My only objecction would be the bathroom shower that was small. I am a taller than average woman and the shower size required some manuvering. The hotel is located within walking distance to public transportation and the museum and shopping areas. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

“Great Location, Great value, Great Breakfast, Great Hotel!”

: following reviews here and the very good value we got for ordering this hotel, we booked the Mercure for 4 nights in june. The hotel is easy to find (right next to Rathaus U-bahn station) and located close to town center especially museums quartier and the Hofburg palace and other sites. the hotel offers the privilege rooms which we didn't take - and the regular room was quite good - although slightly weird windows (electric opening, rooftop windows), and practically no view. the room was big enough, clean and good beds and amenities. the breakfast is a little expensive but totally worth it if you like a decent breakfast as we do - huge selection of cheese, meats, jams, juice, breads, cakes and much more. the nicest thing was being able to order any coffee you want from the bar - i liked the latte machiato best :) staff was nice and helped with every request for information etc. that we had without a problem and with a smile. free internet station at the lobby a very nice plus as we could check on sites and flights etc. all in all a VERY good hotel for your money, with everything you need and central location, a real pleasure!

“Close to everything in the heart of Vienna”

The hotel was clean, safe and comfortable. The best thing was the location. For the price, you cannot get closer to the heart of Vienna. Even in the cold, we were able to walk the few blocks to the museums, cathedrals, restaurants and other attractions along the Ring.

“Great hotel, great location”

We were very satisfied with our two-night stay at this hotel. The location was excellent in the downtown, the main points of interest being within a 15 min. walking distance. The staff was very helpful, and the room comfortable. We reqested an extra bed for our daughter, which turned out to be of a generous size and very comfortable - about full size. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and certainly a good value for the price (you would get less for the price at a local coffee house).
