“Very nice hotel in Vienna”
Hotel Das Tyrol is centrally located right next to the Museums Quarter on a small side street. It's a really nice art-boutique hotel (only 30 rooms, and they have original art everywhere which keeps changing from time to time), that serves an excellent buffet selection breakfast (and eggs to order). Good service, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff, and walking distance from all the sights. Rooms are clean and modern (flat screen TV, coffee making facilities, well stocked minibar + snacks) and same goes for bathroom/shower. If required, be sure to specify the non-smoking room, as not every room is. A very welcome change from all the big impersonal hotels that we tolerate when we have to!
“Can't wait to go back”
You can call this hotel , hotel G cuz it graet !!!!!
“Excellent Small Hotel”
Beautiful boutique hotel in Vienna, very stylishly decorated. Walking distance to most sites, on a busy street (but very quiet in our room), nice spa area, superior linens and very comfortable bed. Breakfast buffet was excellent with great selection and they will cook eggs to order. Front desk was efficient and prompt with any requests. Our only complaint was that our room was quite small, with the end of the bed very close to the wall.
“Terrific Vienna hotel!”
Das Tyrol hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel located just off one of Vienna's best shopping/restaurant streets. The hotel is quiet, the rooms and public areas are filled with interesting artwork, the breakfast is hearty and the receptionist/front lobby is very helpful. We had a terrific stay and would recommend it to all.
“Wonderful hotel”
This is a wonderful hotel centrally located in Vienna's museum quarter. All the major attractions are a short walk away and the metro stop is only one block away. We spent 4 wonderful nights at the hotel and loved it. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. They even offer champagne at breakfast! The rooms are spotless and nicely appointed although a bit on the small side. Free wi-fi is provided. There is a sauna and a steam room which we reget not trying beacuse it was very luxurious. I have nothing negative to say about the hotel. I would definately stay there again. Tip: Vienna weather is very unpredictable so pack clothes for different types of weather.
“a wonderful small hotel. Perfect location.”
We loved the hotel and particularly the location. The only downside is the size of the rooms. They are small. But the quality is high. The breakfast was superb. Staff was friendly and helpful.
“Best Overall Package”
Excellent Hotel, Excellent Breakfast and absolutely wonderful staff. The location is premium. What a joy to have good people taking care of you. The hotel has a couple of steps at entrance and to the elevator which was a slight problem for our baby's stroller but nothing I would complain about. We were able to leave our stroller down in the dining room and pick it up every morning. A small word of caution about Vienna, it is not as safe as it used to be 5 6 years ago. My wife had her purse stolen while eating near the Cathedral in downtown. We were extremely lucky to find it after the thief had dropped it off before running away when a nearby money changer suspected it was not her bag. She was a pregnant woman.
“A DELIGHTFUL STAY AT A SMALL LUXURY HOTEL”
Our stay at Das Tyrol was absolutely marvelous. Rooms, equipped with everything a traveler could desire, are beautifully appointed and meticulously maintained. The staff was attentive and helpful, the breakfast delicious, and the location excellent. We'd highly recommend this hotel to others, and definitely plan on returning someday.
“A Beautiful Hotel”
We stayed at Das Tyrol for over a week in March, 2011. The hotel combines the charm of an older building with the clean lines of upscale contemporary furnishings. The original art throughout is a bonus. Our room was small, but adequate, with very nice appointments and a beautiful bathroom. The high ceiling and large windows (that opened a bit- a feature we like) made the room feel more spacious. Breakfast, served from 7-10:30 in an elegant dining room, offered a delicious variety of cold foods, and the staff cooked eggs and served specialty coffees on request. All the staff we met were very friendly, helpful and accomodating. They made several reservations for us, and offered to serve breakfast early on a day when we left at 7 am for a day trip to Budapest. A computer in the lobby is available for use by guests. The street is busy, but the location is perfect for walking to many of the main tourist sights and restaurants. Public transportaion and the Ring are within two blocks. If you don't need a full service hotel with restaurant and bar, Das Tryol must be one of the best accomodations in Vienna.
“Great Hotel in the best location in Vienna!”
The Das Tyrol was the perfect choice for our first trip to Vienna. It is a smaller Hotel with 5 star feel as the rooms are a good size for European standards. It was well appointed, clean and the service and overall atmosphere was great! But even better than this was the location. 3 city blocks away from the State Opera house it was just enough off of the noisy tourist area and on the edge of a great shopping area with a little local nightlife too! The front desk service was also very good (in english which is hard to find in Vienna) as they could help us with any questions we had (the free chocolates in the room every day was a nice touch too!). We highly recommend the Das Tyrol and should we get the opportunity to go back (and we will go back to Vienna - great European city) we will stay again at the Das Tyrol!
