A cheap and decent bed for a tourist in ViennaPosted Jan 16, 2014
If I were to book this hotel again it'd need some serious refurbishment: the inside looks seriously old (Ok it goes with the building / city), the tv is from another age despite a decent selection of channels for the German speaker at least. However, if what matters to you is sleeping after a long day visiting for a very good price, it does the job! Also note breakfast is not available on site and wifi did not reach my room.

Lower your expectationsPosted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: Not expensive. Close to Wesbahnhof.
Cons: Some of the rooms have no view whatsoever. Ask for a room that has one.
Location: Want food? Go next door to Mariahilfebrau or News Café. Good food and not expensive. 5 minute walk to Wesbahnhof and 15 minutes to Schoenbrunn.
I don't spend a lot of time in my hotel room when I'm on vacation so all I really care about in a hotel are cleanliness and comfort. This hotel is clean and comfortable but not likely to impress anyone, especially Americans.

Big Rooms, Big Bathrooms, BIG breakfastPosted Dec 5, 2013
Pros: breakfast, the size of the rooms
Nice Hotel, staff very helpful (the blond girl at the reception could've been a tiny bit friendlier) but the best thing about it is the all you can eat breakfast. There's everything you can possibly think of, you can even make your own pancakes!

Poor servicePosted Dec 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
As a regular traveller, I don't think I have come across such poor service before from frontline staff. As soon as my friend and I arrived, we were accosted in a disagreeable manner by the unsmiling man working at reception. I politely stated that I thought breakfast was included as part of the deal (I appreciate I got my wires crossed here) and was greeted with an abrupt bark of 'no!' Great first impression. Throughout the course of our stay there, we found the staff to be rude, abrupt and unfriendly. On our second day there, we returned from our sightseeing to find our room had been left open by the cleaner all day. These things happen but understandably annoyed and disappointed by this, we went to talk to the same receptionist who again proved to be obnoxious and unsympathetic. Not at any stage did he nor his colleague (she too barked at us with 'is anything taken?') initially apologise and it was as if we were in the wrong for bringing it to their attention?! Very bizarre behaviour. I think the hotel needs to look hard at its customer service as it is clearly lacking in every department. Aside from that, the room was fine and clean but sadly the service left a real bitter taste in the mouth...

More like a hospital, than a hotelPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: The location was good. The hotel was close to train station, which made it easier to find from different places in Vienna.
Cons: The sigh at the entrance of the hotel would not even light at night, so you could hardly see it. They could liven up the lobby with flowers.
Location: The location was near the Mariahilf strasse full of nice shops. It is only a few stops by tram to the Shonbrun Palace. and 5 stops to Stephanplatz.
As soon as I checked in to my room and was about to go to the shower, the door opened and another lady tried to come in. She was given exactly the same key to my room. When I complained at the reception about it, they thought nothing of it, saying that this mistakes happen. When I said, that my door would not close from inside and is probably broken, the receptionist made me look as if I can't operate the locks. When she eventually went up with me and realised that the door was broken, she said, that there is no point to lock the door from the inside and that I should trust people more. I was offered another room, but was told to move straight away, so I had less time on sightseeing on the first day. After all the receptionist offered one free breakfast at the nearby restaurant, which was nice, but could not completely erase the bad experience. Throughout the whole stay I felt more like being in the hospital on weekend with basic facilities. Would never return or recommend to my friends.
