This was an immersive experience not a big chain hotel. In the evening the roosters and dogs on the island start crowing and barking. In the morning the roosters crow again. Turn off your electronics and enjoy the location.
We were picked up at the airport by Penney. She is the hands on owner of the hotel. When we arrived she helped us schedule what tours we wished to experience.
Within walking distance is the last Spanish fort built in the western hemisphere and the town.
We took advantage of horseback riding, biobay tours, shopping and local eateries. Please know that the horseback riding is through the town, in the woods, up hills, down hills, on the beach and back again. Awesome.
Taxi service is relatively new and has a few glitches. The hotel has no affiliation with the taxi service. So were I to visit again I would walk to the locations and rent a jeep for the rest.
The room was clean and comfortable. Coffee and breakfast was laid out in the morning. A small pool is there to cool off in. There was a large balcony to catch the breezes in the morning and the evenings. We never turned on the Tv.

What can I say about Vieques and the W. From the time you arrive at the airport and hit th W lounge you are treated with friendly and helpful associates. I have to say everyone is on the same page from the desk, to the grounds crew, the pool, the shops and resturants this place is amazing. Vieques and the W are a match made in heaven.

The hotel is kind of in the middle of no where. Nothing is in walking distance. You should get a jeep from the nearby car rental place. Depending on your room you can get a terrace with a beautiful view of the mountains. The staff were nice. But the the front desk is only on property from 9-5. After 5 you're on your own. The rooms are fully equipped with a kitchen with plates and utensils.
I like that the hotel provides beach chairs, beach towels and coolers for guests to borrow. I like that they provide continental breakfast in the morning. I like that there are loose horses hanging all around the hotel. You literally will have a horse walk by you without its owner. I liked that the AC was super powerful. I was happy that there weren't many mosquitos in the room.
I disliked that the sheets and shower curtain were stained. I found a dead lizard behind the bed. I could tell that the lizard was dead for a long time. Doesn't seem like the staff thoroughly cleans the rooms.
For the price, I think the hotel in fine. I was hardly at the room because I was constantly going on vieques adventures. (Black beach, horse back riding, W hotel pool etc)

Loved this hotel ... Everything about it was fun!! Had an amazing upgrade to a corner room and although it wasn't facing the water it was huge and walk to wall windows with a huge patio ... Room 210 ... I was expecting a big pool so if you're going there to SWIM in the pool forget it - the pool is just as trendy as the hotel ... It's a giant above ground jacuzzi like - super clean and expansive views. I would highly recommend this place!

The hotel staff was very friendly and our room was quiet and comfortable. Ask for room #1 if you want wifi access in your room! The only downside was that it was farther than we thought from the main street (Malecon) with all of the restaurants. However, we heard from other travelers who stayed on the Malecon that it was noisy. Once we got our rental car, it was much easier to get around.

Very friendly manager. Nice swimming pool that we often had to ourselves. There is a non-touristy convenience store around the corner. The Malecon is a couple minutes away on foot, with several cool restaurants. We booked a tour of the Bio-luminescent Bay at Abe's, and they will pick you up at their storefront the night of your tour.
The window AC unit struggled to keep up, even while sustained at its highest setting, but the two ceiling fans helped to mitigate. No TV in room. Wifi did not work in the room - we had to move outdoors into a 'public area' nearer the building office to catch the signal.
Lots of interesting animals abound. There are small lizards all over (outside), maybe 4" long. Feral horses once you get away from the busy streets. A giant iguana scrambled into the pool once. There are roosters, as mentioned in other reviews. They're definitely noisy but it's not that disruptive with the windows shut and AC on.
Overall a cool place to stay.

My friend and I stayed at the inn for three nights. The room was small and simple and had everything we needed including AC, mini fridge, and a private bathroom. In terms of the room, you pay for what you get. However, when it comes to service, Maria and Joe go above and beyond! They are incredibly friendly and accommodating. They do whatever they possibly can to make your stay pleasant such as providing beach towels and mats, arranging transportation, providing morning beverages (tea and coffee). They do all of this with just the two of them. It is amazing! Joe even have us a ride to pick up our rental car and made sure we were good to go before leaving. We definitely left the inn with two new friends! Thank you!!!
