A splendid hotel, full of character. Very obliging staff, excellent breakfast, well stocked Honesty Bar, and heavenly garden, with panoramic views. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone going to Valparaiso.

Lovely Historic BuildingPosted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: It is a small and welcoming hotel with a lovely terrace that is a sun trap surrounded by a beautiful garden overlooking the harbour.
Cons: Creaky floor boards can be a disturbance for those in rooms below.
Location: The location is excellent with quality boutique shops and good restaurants nearby.
A warm welcome and drinks in the beautiful terraced garden in the morning sunshine helped us to forget the miseries of the long flight. The hotel is in a pleasant and convenient location for the tourist attractions and great and inexpensive local restaurants. Our very pleasant room was no 1 on the ground floor complete with a high ceiling, comfortable bed plenty of space and a good bathroom. The polished wood floors look great but can creak a bit so pay the extra money and have a room facing the sea and on the top floor if you are able. Breakfast is very good too, the honesty bar works well, the Wi-Fi works fine too and the reception team helpfully make bookings for restaurants for dinner etc. We will stay at the Zerohotel again on our next visit to this unusual and historic city.

We had a fantastic time at Hotel Zero and can highly recommend it not only for the wonderful service, the views but it is the best location in the city for sightseeing. The staff were all exceptionally helpful.

would definitely stay here againPosted Dec 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
Although their was a minor issue with water in the upstairs rooms, staff worked hard to fix it even bringing us a 6 liter bottle of water and giving us a discount on one day due to our inconvenience. Rex was great and helped us with directions and etc. .

Amazing Hotel, Stay and City!Posted Dec 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were welcomed from the moment we walked in the door. Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful setting and great service. Really nice breakfast and love the "honor bar" system. Really made you feel at home. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Valparaiso.

Nice hotel but they need to fid the heatingPosted May 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel it is lovely, the Lady Manager was very nice with us once we checked in late night, only thing they should advise is that the hotel do not have parking lot... so you have to find yourself a place to park in Valparaiso, which is not easy.... About the room has space enough, very warm once we arrived but in the middle of the night I am not sure if they tunr off the heating or was a room problem? Very cold at night... They should fix the heating .... Cheers

. Dangerous CityPosted Apr 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was fine Hotel manager recommended a walking tour guide . Guide nor hotel advised us to leave all valuables at the hotel and guide took us to a bad area. We were mugged at gun point. Both hotel and guide showed extremely poor judgement. Additionally, haven't heard from hotel management re. an apology or to find. Out how we are doing. Would definitely not recommend Valparaiso as a destination.

Great Neighborhood close to lots of great stuffPosted Apr 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
We loved this place! The garden in the back is a wonderful place to read a book or enjoy a glass of wine. Beautiful views and a great staff. We'd had many an uncomfortable bed on this trip but these were amazing and a wonderful way to end our trip! We'd definitely go back!

The information provided is inaccurate. NOT all rooms face the street or the ocean. Room #6 faces an ugly rusty wall with no view of either the street or the ocean as advertised. The price is outrageous for such a poor room, and the price for this room should be significantly lower. Be careful when you book to make sure what the room faces.
