Budget Host Motel

Posted Oct 3, 2013
Cons: Everything
Probably the worst place I have ever stayed in my entire life (and I have stayed in some pretty bad places.) Mold in bathroom and place smelled of mold and stale cigarette smoke even though it was presented as a no smoking room. Wanted to sleep with all of my clothes on!

Pros: Not a thing
Cons: Burn it down and rebuild
Location: Don't know
We did not stay. Hotel was run down and dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke and animal. Kids running around and I suspect they are renting part of hotel by week or month. We took one look and canceled.Www.

Most disgusting rooms ever seen

Posted Jul 16, 2013
Pros: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!
Cons: This hotel is not clean by any definition of the word. This is absolutely what needs to be improved.
Location: Convenient location for travelers.
The state of this hotel and its rooms don't even compare to what was shown in the photos. The outside of the hotel is in dire need of repair. The photo must be 20 years old or more. The first thing you are greeted by are people who look as though they live in the hotel rooms standing around outside their doors with their pets. We then opened the two rooms which were reserved and a stench of what I determined later must be a mixture of smoke and animal urine and feces slams you in the face. If it hadn't been a holiday weekend and I knew the other hotels were booked we would have immediately left. Instead we went straight to Target to purchase as much Febreeze as we could to try to make the night somewhat tolerable. We stayed purposely away from the hotel until we had to return for sleep. The air freshener helped slightly for only a little while. We were able to fall asleep but were very worried about the condition of the bed linens as well as clearly the room was not cleaned appropriately ever. In the middle of the night the alarm went off and when may husband picked it up to move it to turn it off it stirred up a smell from behind the nightstand that made him want to vomit. We left the hotel at the crack of dawn and never looked back. I would never wish a stay to my worst enemy at this hotel. I suggest to everyone including Expedia that they never book this hotel for anyone ever again.

WHAT A DUMP

Posted Jun 8, 2013
This facility was in total disrepair and quite unkept. A tick was crawling on the shower curtain @ check-in. The room was dirty and all surfaces were stained. Slept in a Sleeping bag on top of the bed. Sleeping under the truck in a sleeping bag was considered.

Cons: Elevators took awhile...steps were faster!
Location: Loved the location, was in town for a bachelorette party/bar crawl, and it was close to many good restaurants, and bars.
Great location, within walking distance of many good restaurants and bars.

Adequate

Posted Oct 8, 2012
Location: Good for the Eveleth and Virginia area but nothing in the immediate neighborhood of motel.
Clearly an example of "You get what you pay for." The motel was okay for an inexpensive place to sleep for the night: about half of what the others (e.g., AmericInn) that I saw in the area were asking.

Stay at an alternate locaton

Posted Jun 18, 2012
Pros: It was better than sleeping on the floor.
Cons: Upkeep of motel
Although Rick was very accommodating the place was in dire need of a remodel. The rooms were not very clean and not very convenient access.

Quite the Experience

Posted Feb 17, 2012
We pulled up to this hotel and broke out in laughter. We were supposed to stay at Giants Ridge for the State Alpine Ski meet but it was overbooked. This was the only hotel/motel in the area. The outside of this motel is dreadful. There were dog feces on the sidewalk as you enter the office. The noise from the highway was unbelievable. I felt like I was sleeping in the middle of the freeway without a blanket. the door to our room had a half inch gap so the wind was whipping thru the room. If they removed the red white & blue buntings from the building it would improve the outside a lot. Needless to say not much sleep that night. I would not recommend until they update this motel. We talked to the motel manager and it is under new ownership with plans for many renovations. Let's hope!!
