good hotel excellent food un professional staffPosted Jan 28, 2013
Cons: dealing with thier staff
This is very good budget hotel with minimum amenities. But food is excellent and specially andhra thali and pesarattu. Location is very good. But only problem with unprofessional staff. If you are a frequent business traveller, you can find the difference.

Stay was good.. Sometime wasted in getting correct room type as per booking. Food was excellent...platinum premium rooms could be better...for price charged. People were polite and courteous...

Overall we enjoyed staying. Will consider staying again if the price is slightly lowered

THIS HOTEL IS LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN VISHAKHAPATNAMPosted Mar 29, 2011 on Hotels.com
Shopping is very convenient to hotel. Hotel is a little far from airport and traffic is very congested. Food is okay and there are enough choices from Asian to Contenental. Breakfast was lacking in choices of food items. Billing was terrible. The hotel tried to charge me for my stay even though I had prepaid with hotels.com. Even after providing copies of the paid bill that I had received from hotels.com they continued to call me during my visit wanting payment. When I finally was able to call hotels.com the customer service person contacted the hotel and then call me back to confirm the matter was taken care of. Thank you hotels.com. I ran into a similar problem with another hotel in India, but we resolved the situation without having to contact hotels.com.

Hotel Daspalla in Vizag- Not for touristsPosted Jan 31, 2011 on Hotels.com
The first thing the auto-driver told on arrival at Vishakhapatnam (Vizag) Station was that Hotel Daspalla was a Three Star implying slightly higher auto fare. It was 3 Kms. from the station, at the business centre of Vizag, the surroundings being market places as congested as it could get in an otherwise scenic coastal town. It is little far from the tourist attractions surrounding the long beach area. The services were prompt, complimentary breakfast wholesome. Room was comfortable but the western style toilet had water stains from flushing. Linen was clean. The room had central air-conditioning, LCD TV with international channels, one small refigerator, wardrobe, reading table and chair, sofas with centre table and two separate beds. Hot water was available throughout. Dinner was too hot and spicy, the "Speciality Thai Soup" we ordered was a major letdown. Check-out was smooth. The rates quoted by "Samudrika", their travel agent for a rental car was lower than other operators of the City. However, can not comment on their services as I did not avail it.

Hotel Daspalla in Surya BaghPosted Dec 15, 2010 on Hotels.com
The hotel room is well furnished and surprisingly clean. The food in the restaurants in the ground floor is also quite good. I ate at Dharani restaurant (South Indian veg.). The breakfast buffet is quite sumptuous. By the way, WiFi access was free in my room.

It is an impressive hotel with all modern facilities. It has access to all major transports running in the city. Once you are in its premises, it is quite peaceful. My only concern was that it is not so much aesthetically impressive and the decor of the restaurant is not very pleasant. Food part needs imporvement.
