Cons:

Nice for the Price

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Close to the Sequoia NP and good rates. The breakfast had a nice array.
Cons: The pool did not look clean, lots of birds flying over and dipping in for a drink.
Location: There were some nice restaurants nearby that weren't too expensive.
The room we were given was very perfumey and dark. I asked about another room and they were very nice about letting us switch. This room had a slight perfume (room deodorizer) smell, but acceptable. We ended up asking for another night, and they again were very accommodating.

Western holiday is a pretty place to stay for a day or few. It has a decent ambience with well maintained rooms at affordable price. Sufficient and varieties of dishes available for breakfast. Especially the Orange juice is amazing.

Beautiful location & kind staff. The hotel is older & it was better than I expected. Some of the rooms didn't have working heaters. Perfect for the price.

Nice hotel close to the Sequoia National Park.

Posted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: Big rooms(renovated ones), grounds, staff, close to Sequoia!
Cons: The color of spa's water was not so good so we did not used it.
Location: Good location near the Sequoia Natl Park entrance(south).
We stayed 2 nights on the trip to the Sequoia Natl Park. Nice hotel with big rooms(we booked deluxe room which are not very expensive) and rooms looked newly renovated, smelled like new. The receptionist was very, very nice and made our stay more enjoyable. Thanks Judith you are a very pleasant person and professional you are the best! Close to the entrance in Sequoia Natl Park (7-8 miles away) and very nice grounds and views. We gonna stay here again for sure! We were 2 families with 2 small children each.

No temperature control

Some lamps weren't working, the gas fireplace was only for show, they turn it off and refuse to turn it on. Wifi is grossly insufficient. But the worst by far was the heating: it is one of these small AC units that are suitable for much smaller rooms than the one we had. We stayed in late December, and it was cold. Turning the heat on would have meant turing on a very, very loud fan heater all night, since it was too small. So we piled up all the blankets we had. It was still too cold, but at leadt it was quiet. I assume that in the summer, the problem is the same: I don't see how such a tiny AC unit could cool down such a big room. If only they let the gas fireplace on...
