Brasilia, the national capital, is located 590 miles (950 kilometers) northwest of Vitoria, while Rio de Janeiro lies 260 miles (418 kilometers) to the southwest.
Vitoria features many fine coastal destinations great for reconnecting with Mother Nature. Namorados Beach and Concha Beach are among the best stretches of beach in this coastal location. Other fine beaches worth exploring are Curva da Jurema Beach and Virtudes Beach.

If you are into nature, visit Mangue Seco Municipal Park and Raposa Island, two scenic places where visitors to Vitoria like to spend time to get active. Take a walk and go birdwatching, before having a picnic in the preserves’ pristine grounds.
Spot some of the area’s unique birdlife by heading to one of the lakes in the area such as Lua de Prata Lagoon or perhaps Itapebussu Lagoon. Go for a hike or see if you can spot some of the timid water creatures and if the weather is warm enough, lose your shoes and dip your feet in the water.
Namorados Square and Papa Square are two of the most iconic public gathering places in the Vitoria area. Wander the squares and admire the surrounding buildings or simply rest on a nearby terrace to enjoy the atmosphere.
If you enjoy history, set aside some time to explore the Railroad Museum and the Garoto Chocolate Factory, two of the most popular museums in the Vitoria area. Of all the museums in the city these are two of the more recommended.
During a walking tour of the city, don't miss the old religious sites. The Chapel of St. John of Carapina and the Vitoria Metropolitan Cathedral are excellent local examples of these. Take the time to enjoy the reverential atmosphere at these remarkable places.
