A well positioned hotel close to the centre and public transport that gave access to the rest of the area. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They recommended some very good restaurants and helped us make the most of the city. Very comfortable room with daily cleaning and a varied European breakfast available in the morning. One small glitch was difficulty experienced by non Russian speaking relatives trying to get through the switchboard. Overall though - excellent and would recommend to British visitors to the city.

When we arrived our first impression was: it’s very run down. The second impression was the same… The reception staff was friendly and spoke enough English. Outside it was around 30 degrees and we found out that our room had no fan or air conditioning. We asked for a room with air conditioning and for a small fee we got an ‘upgrade’. Our new room was an apartment. There was air conditioning yes, but it only blew some lukewarm air. Inside the hotel and rooms had been renovated in the 80’s we think and since then nothing happened. Breakfast was ok, nothing special.
We wanted to leave some luggage on the last day and had to pay a small fee for it.
The parrot in the hotel lobby was very nice and friendly.
Although, surprisingly, we had good night rest, I will not recommend this hotel to friends.
