Everything you need but run-downPosted Sep 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
It is a great hotel; the room has everything you need and they leave fruit for you in the room which is a nice touch. The rooms and the whole place is a little run down and looks like something from the 70's. But the pool is great! I would stay here again.

Not the bestPosted Jul 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
Was worried when I saw reviews for this place when booking. It was ok to stay in but I wouldn't stay there again if I had the choice. Poor service, bad breakfast which pretty much ran out by 9. Very much in need of an update ( repaint etc). Was not worth the money. I am used to staying in hostels too.

Great service in a retro hotelPosted Apr 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel was built in the 1970s and very little has changed in the premises since then. It took me right back to the hotels I stayed in in that era, including the carpet in the front foyer smelling of cigarette smoke! Said carpet is badly stained and needs replacement. In fact there are a lot of things that need to be replaced or renovated. That said, mostly everything worked, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the (modern) air conditioners work effectively. The hotel is well located on Front Beach and most taxi drivers in Vung Tau know where to go if you just say "Rex Hotel", Breakfasts are good with western options, including fried eggs and bacon. But the real asset in this hotel is the reception staff. They are welcoming, speak English adequately and are very helpful.

Comfortable, clean, good location.Posted Mar 28, 2012
Pros: Good location, comfy, great breakfast and nice pool area.
Cons: Shocking television set. But, hey, you're on holiday! Get out and enjoy the place!
Location: Not far off the front beach. Easy walk to lots of great eateries, bars etc...
Good location. Rooms were clean and tidy, perhaps needing some refurbishment. The bathrooms were stuck in a bit of a time warp and showering (and keeping the bathroom from flooding ) with the shower over bath set up required a bit of a contortionist act, unless you were under 5 foot tall. Having said that, everything was clean and the water hot and steady so not the end of the world. The breakfasts were great. There was a lovely pool area/poolside bar and the staff were friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with.

This hotel needs room maintenance, and staff need more trainingPosted Nov 12, 2011
Location: Vung Tau
Air Conditioning needs upgrading. Our bar fridge did not work and a request to hotel staff was ignored. Floor coverings in the room need replacing, they are very old and worn. The buffet breakfast was very poor quality. Many of the food items were not replenished, which made the selection very sparse. As a retired Travel Agent I found this hotel very disappointing and would not recommend to a client.

Nice hotel, a bit tired, but good value. Great breakfast but dont ask for eggs anyway except fried or omlette. They dont understand poached or hard boiled, A good area close to nice restaurants.
