Getaway at Waitakere EstatePosted Oct 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
Absolutely loved it. The views are to die for and so peaceful -you can hear the serenity- wake up to the sound of moreporks. I'd go back any day (or night).

The Estate is centered in pretty much the middle of nowhere, however that's part of its charm. The views of the city from the dining room and balconies are stunning. The structure itself is definitely old, but they keep it very clean - however, the walls are fairly thin. I could hear slight mumbles of people talking next door. The food at the restaurant was one of the best meals I've had in my trip across New Zealand. This hotel is intended as an escape from the city or perhaps an chance to unwind on vacation - but definitely not as an overnight stop while traveling, so book accordingly.

get away from fast lifePosted Apr 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Was lovely to have good old fashioned quality friendly service from the front desk to the restaurant. Food was great. Location totally away from the speed of life. We loved the every changing views from our room, the mists on the forest were amazing! Will be coming back for a longer weekend :-) great friendly staff. Fantastic friendly service.

This was with my daughter and I from usa and she loved this night in new zealandPosted Dec 9, 2011
Location: try this as a break from down in the city.
This was one of the last nights before leaving new Z and was one of the best. The walking paths, dinner, atmosphere, and staff made this one of my daughters best memories while we visited from the states.

Tropical WonderlandPosted Oct 30, 2011
Although a bit of a drive from Auckland, it is worth tghe ride - acres of tropical plants and a super view of Auckland. Extremely attentive service and wonderful dining, comfortable, quiet room Would definitely stay again next time in New Zealand
