"An oasis of tranquility"
Our Hawaiian vacations are usually spent in Kauai but we had to travel to Oahu for a sporting event. We are so glad we chose the Halekulani. I have never been to a hotel where almost everything is perfect! From the moment we walked into the Halekulani we could tell it was a special place, an oasis of calm in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Oahu. The staff seems to be a tight-knit unit that works together extremely well, and they all have one goal; to make each guests feel special and provide the best service. The restaurants are situated overlooking the ocean and the Sunday buffet is divine. La Mer was a culinary experience with old world service that is so rare in restaurants of its class these days. Live music is also excellent. The jazz band is divine and the Hawaiian band by the beach is first rate. The pool staff were also excellent and seemed to be there just when you needed them! The servings of little treats like mini muffins or frozen fruits were a nice touch.

    Where to stay in Waikiki

Pocket Guide: Oahu Island Waikiki Halekulani Corporation Romantic Hotels

Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.
