"Chickens are great"
It is a great place to stay. The prices are the best. The location is great. The people are great. free parking. Shopping center right across the street. But best of all is this little restaurant in the shopping center that has home cooked meals. the best home cooking we had while on Kauai. Great people run the place and it has the best beefsteak and gravy I ever had. Breakfast is best also. If it weren't for that little restaurant we would have starved. the name of the place is Waipouli Restaurant in the corner of the shopping center. Right across the street from the hotel. A lot of chickens roam the area but they are great fun to watch. The hotel is right on the beach. You can sleep to the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore. great place, bes we had in all the islands with the help of the little restaurant.

"Nice Timeshare resort."
I stayed in 1 bedroom kitchenette suite. Suite was spacious and comfortable. Nice pool. Only bad thing I can point out is they try hard to convince you to attend time share presentation when picking up parking pass. Resort is right next to the ocean but the beach is small and has course beach - not suitable for swimming or sunbathing but OK for walks. Lydgate beach is 5 minute drive away.

"Nice hotel, location and staff"
We have stayed at this hotel many times. We find the staff to be very helpful, they correct any mistakes immediately, and the rooms are clean and well-kept. They did some small construction while we were there, they waived the fees for the resort for those days, and offered to give us a different room.

From the moment of check in, the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. They remembered my wife's birthday later in the week with a card, flowers and a fruit plate in the room when we returned later that evening. The hotel itself was very relaxing and accommodating with plenty of chairs and hammocks on the beach and around the pool. Over all, a great experience.

"Great economical choice!"
We really enjoyed staying here. My boyfriend and I visited for five days and took advantage of the kitchen, saving ourselves lots of money from going out for drinks and/or dining. The staff kept the place very clean although we did our own dishes (which is totally reasonable). The grounds were quiet and quite beautiful. It's less than a block from the beach- but I wouldn't say the immediate beach was suitable for more than anything other than romantic walks, toe-dipping and/or fishing. There was a small beach good for all that about two to three blocks up the way. Still, the ambiance was very peaceful. I should mention, there was a possible burglary during our stay so make sure to lock your doors when not at home. We went to two of the three pools (the ones with the hot tubs) and met some of the residents who live there. They were very friendly and informative. My boyfriend smokes and had no problems with smoking at the designated area out near the parking lot and met even more people staying there. We also used the laundry facilities on our last day and paid a total of $2 for one load, laundry soap included. Other than being greeted by a flying cockroach when we arrived, we had no issues with the unit. There were birds, frogs, cats, snails and little lizards- which I quite enjoyed. There are a few bars, restaurants and cafes in walking distance, and a Foodland and Safeway less than a mile away- all very convenient.

"Fantastic accommodations."
The 2 bedroom unit is very spacious. It essentially has 2 master bedrooms. Our mountain view was very nice. The kitchen has granite countertops, a Subzero fridge and fully stocked cabinets. They provide dish and dishwasher detergent, but not laundry detergent.

"Reasonably priced and very friendly staff!"
This hotel is very reasonably priced in comparison with others on Kauai. The hotel itself is a little run down, some paint missing here and there and furniture appears quite old and rugged looking, but if you're on a budget looking for somewhere decent to stay, this place is wonderful! The staff was extremely friendly and we never had a problem once. We must have lost our room keys over 10 times and they never gave us an issue and were very helpful. The pool and Jacuzzi were wonderful to have and I loved the man made pond located steps away from the hotel out in the ocean on a nice beach. It allows for great snorkling opportunites with lots of fish to see and a great swimming spot free of waves and any others hazards. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and I would definitely go back there.

"Well worth price, heard property owners changed"
For the time we arrived to the time we left we felt we got a good deal and made a great decision. The front desk allows guests to put luggage in their holding(storage) room for early-late departures. We changed our clothes in the lobby's restrooms, their not fancy but their clean. The beach is literally right there and so is one of their pools with the marbled fire pit, you can see them when you check in, including our assigned rooms. There are long pieces of slab rocks when you go in the water, but compared to some of the other beaches on Kauai it wasn't to bad on the feet. Than less than 1/4 mile (a 5 min walk) they have a "Coconut marketplace" its filled with shops, places to grab a quick bit to eat & drinks. The hotel called us when our rooms, arranged taxis and shuttles are knowledgeable in answering any questions we had on the points of interest and sights . The rooms were amazingly clean you can tell they had recently renovated. The bathroom is on the small side, you have the tub, toilet and sink in one. I would have preferred more vanity space but the main thing is the AC works great. Housekeeping staff is wonderful. The property security guards are courteous, polite & quiet. Continental breakfast is small but they keep it stocked-croissants, bear claws, three assorted type of donuts & bananas besides coffee and juice. They do have a microwave, toaster & filtered cold/hot water system. Each room has a fridge, closet grocery store is about a 15 min walk, Safeway.

"Enjoyable"
We were winging the room thing in Kauai and found his hotel on Expedia, price was right for a newly renovated room, the decor was stylish and having a brand new kitchen with the eating bar and stainless steel appliances was a bonus. The pool was quaint but very well kept and a pleasure to swim and suntan (very private). We were pretty much the only guest staying a the 52 unit hotel the reason being is the other half of the hotel is under construction and this is probably deterring other guest. We were gone most of the days so constructions wasn't a problem for us and with not many guest around we pretty much had our own little Paradise. When we return to Kauai we will definitely re-booked in the other phase which will be on the ocean view side.
