West Inn Waimea a reasonable choicePosted Jun 20, 2013
Pros: Comfortable beds
Cons: Rooms very hot and airconditioning extremely noisy. Had to drag suitcases up a very long set of stairs to get to room. No onsite staff after 5pm.
Location: Good location if you need to be in Waimea. However there is really no need to stay here rather than Lihue.
Comfortable rooms with all you need. However, no staff present after 5pm, requiring a phone call to get security number to get into hotel - expensive if you have only an Australian mobile and impossible if you don't happen to have a working phone with you. Rooms were up a very very long flight of stairs which was very challenging for me as I had an injured knee and needed a walking stick. Getting bag upstairs was very difficult with no help - manager helped me down when we left. It's quite a decent little hotel but you really don't need to stay in Waimea which is very small and only about an hour or so drive from Lihue. Stay in Lihue where there are more facilities.
