This motel is located on one of the most scenic sites imaginable overlooking the Alsea river and bridge in Waldport. Right out the door you get to view where the river meets the ocean. This hotel has been renovated through out and we were very impressed. New carpets, new bathrooms, comfortable beds. The restaurant and lounge have been renovated too and look fantastic. The 4th of July in Waldport is celebrated on the 3rd so we got to be part of the holiday event which included a perfect view of the the fire works display as they are launched over the bay. Here you can to get away from it all and see the seals, herons and other water fowl.PS Crabbing is also good in the bay.

Newly renovated hotel under new management really close to the beach (walking distance from the Alsea bay and Pacific. Nice warm pool (warmer than the ocean), fire pits for "burn it yourself" dinner, tranquil atmosphere of a small towm away from the busy life.

I think they are in the progress of new management. They are doing a good job. For the price it is a good value. The restaurant is defiantly 4 star!

In a day and age where customer service tends to be lacking, our stay was an amazing example of great, friendly and helpful customer service. Don't forget to try the restaurant the food is amazing! Looking forward to our next stay already!

“Nice older hotel”

The hotel looks older, not sure there is even an elevator.... but it was clean and the service was great. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was good. Later we played pool in the bar and had excellent service from the bartender.

Clean and friendly, Great Restaurant with very resonable prices. Bathroom could use a counter top sink instead of a pedastal sink.

This place was quite a "find". As we traveled the Oregon coast in July, 2011, my friend and I found many places had no vacancies. We found Soul through Expedia and the rate was extremely reasonable. The location (near Yachats and Cape Perpetua) was super. The place is in a very quiet residential area right on the river. We felt safe there. The restaurant seemed a little expensive. Since we weren't sure of the value, we did not try it. Nor did we try the swimming pool. On the negative side, the reception staff was not very friendly and the room was fairly recently repainted, etc, but not really clean...there was a plastic fork left on the floor near the bed and mildew on the shower wall and curtain. I liked the fact that there were NO pictures on the walls, but I suspect they will hang something. Some aspects were very up to date and others very old and shabby. I believe this place to be in transition...I hope they improve. I would go back again.

“nice veiw”

It was a nice hotel and they were very accomadating but wish they would of had a fridge and microwave in the rooms just for the fact that their are no resturants close by the closes place to eat was in newport which was over 40 minute drive. The veiws were beautiful you walk out back and they have fire pits and picnic tables that look out onto the ocean which is right there you just walk down the little hill and your standing in the ocean. It was amazing in the moring waking up walking out back and watching the sun rise above the ocean and seeing the boats with fishermen catching their daily catch. There is a little spot on the side of the hotel where the ocean fills up when the tide comes in and then it drains and you can catch fish and get clams out of the beds right there. I would stay there again the kids enjoyed being able to walk down and collect seashells
