Retro red lion in downtown Walla Walla

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: New decor, spacious rooms, hot tub, coffee in rooms a minifridge, bargain price, centrally located
Cons: Perhaps the garbage cans by pool could be emptied more often?
My check-in was quick, and the hotel staff were polite and professional. I had an awesome spacious room overlooking the pool. The hotel was located almost in the center of town, with restaurants and Whitman only a few blocks away. I had a peaceful, fun retreat in Walla Walla and would recommend the red lion to my family and friends! Unfortunately I missed their continental breakfast as I am not an early riser!

Hotel was okay. We were only there a few hours.

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: It was okay. Pool and breakfast were okay.
Cons: Not real crazy about the paint job in the rooms.
We came to Walla Walla for a funeral service, so were there a few hours (overnite). It was adequate. Did not use the pool or hot tub,but it looked inviting. We also did not partake in the breakfast, but it looked good.

Great for the price

My room was recently remodeled and was very neat and clean. Nothing too fancy and mostly basic but for the price it was awesome. The staff was very friendly.

Don't stay here!

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: This place sucks!
Cons: Don't stay here
This place is terrible! We stood in line at check in for 30 minuets to be find out there was no room even though they had our reservation. The lobby was filled with unhappy customers who either received dirty rooms or rooms already occupied. We used the computer in the lobby to book another hotel, by the time we got settled there was no time to play. The place is a dump, very run down.

Comfortable bed and spacious room.

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: cleanliness and spaciousness of room. Quick check in and out.
Cons: Parking and access to rooms from front office
The only bad experience was the breakfast. The room was small and not enough room for all to sit. They start serving breakfast at 7:00 AM instead of 6:00 like other hotels. The food was not good, frozen danish, dry overcooked eggs, no fruit, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We apologize that our breakfast did not meet your expectations. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our breakfast, so your feedback is appreciated. Per Red Lion Standards, we serve breakfast from 6am-9am during weekdays, and 7am-10am. on weekends. Once in awhile guests will request an earlier start time. We are always happy to accommodate these requests.

Charged for room twice

Posted Jun 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
We paid for this room through Hotels.com. However, rather than use the credit card for incidentals on check-in, the hotel charged the credit card for full price of the room. We were fraudulently charged for the room twice. It took a phone call and discussion with the hotel clerk to convince them to reverse the charge.

Convenient & Comfortable

Posted Jun 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel appears small like a motel when you first approach it at the street. Yet, after checking in at the lobby and you walk or drive back to where the pool, the 2-story guest rooms and the guest-house where breakfast is served - it's bigger and much better than I first expected. It's not fancy or 4-star but it's a clean, professional place to stay. Plus Walla Walla is not a cheap place to stay nor is there a lot to choose from; only 2 and 4 star hotels -and only about 6 or 8 to choose from. So, Red Lion is at the lower end, but in price only. It’s OK, I'm normally a 4-star guy, but still on a budget; so I liked this place after all and I'd go there again!
