“Promises Much But Delivers Little”
I have to say, I was very impressed by the exterior of the hotel and it's reception, however, that is where the good impressions end. The room itself felt cheaply decorated, and, despite a large television, seemed to lack any warmth. Only one bath towel and one hand towel had been placed in the room, so we had to request more from reception. Having been delayed on the motorway, we looked forward to a coffee in the much advertised Starbucks there, so we ventured to the lobby, only to find that at weekends, it closed at 5. A coffee in the bar was settled upon-a nicely appointed bar, but the coffee wasn't really up to much. The Starbucks offered a fast collection service in the morning, which would be useful to business travellers in the week, but not at weekends, early start or not. No breakfast room service was offered, and so we made our way to the buffet breakfast. Long lines of customers snaked around the restaurant as insufficient food had been cooked and was arriving at the buffet in dribs and drabs. Having located a table, we queued and then had to wait for toast. I returned to the table to find my cutlery and cup AWOL so had to search for a waiter to bring some more. By the time I got to eat my breakfast, it was stone cold. On checking out, I fouund that they had tried to charge me for the room a second time, and then had to stand in a long line at reception to resolve this. All in all, not good value for money, even if you use the pool and gym.
