The hotel was very clean and safe. There was some trouble with a guest upstairs with children who were stomping around and jumping, but that eventually settled down. I did ask for a pet-friendly room and when I got there was told there were no more even though my reservation was accepted. They then proceeded to charge me an “extra” amount as a pet cleaning fee for that room. I felt that they should have made that known upfront, but the room was nice and the area safe. I would stay there again

I was very pleased with my stay at Microtel in Walterboro. The area and hotel felt safe, especially as I walked the dog in the evening. Hotel and room were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here on my next trip.

The one Queen bedroom unit is way too small for the price. 300 sf stated, in reality under 200. If you want to sleep, better turn off the heater/airconditioning unit. Skimpy breakfast. Bad lighting, with that beer fridge feeling.Overeall not horrible, but overpriced for what it is. Used to be better, as we book this place twice a year.

The staff wasn’t super friendly. The morning person seemed very overwhelmed while restocking breakfast supplies. Walls seemed very thin. Overall it was a good place to rest our heads for the night though.

The toilet paper was not new. It was a used roll with two pieces. It was pricy for a so so hotel.

Our toilet was stopped up with only tissue and no solid waste, causing me to have to get a plunger from the clerk to open the drain, the bath drain was slow and we had to stand in water during the shower, and I nearly fell when I grabbed a loose safety grab bar. Not happy!

I thought the price was higher than we had spent in Clear Springs, MD with a better dog friendly room. The towels were softer, a window seat and a breakfast of eggs, sausage, biscuits, oatmeal etc. A complete breakfast. This was a Holiday Inn Express.

The room/hotel was ok, not great but not awful either.
I gave it low stars because they apparently ran out of pet friendly room's and charged us a higher pet fee. Instead of $40 ($20 per dog) I got charged $67.20. I wasn’t told ahead of time about this. Had I know it would that much I would have stayed at a nicer hotel for the same price.

Positives: The hotel was close to I-95. The hotel was close to a couple restaurants. The lobby and room was clean. The hotel looked to be newer or updated, and it was decorated for Christmas. The bed was comfortable even though the room was very small.The price was reasonable.
Room for improvement: staff not friendly at desk, didn’t smile or make me feel welcome. The breakfast buffet did not include any eggs or breakfast meats or potatoes just waffle machine, toaster and instant oatmeal and grits packets. Really no options for Keto choices. The coffee was not good.

Com prior to check in @ midnight walked in to check in was denied said i had to wait until 3pm friday . Bc my charge came in few min after midnight. I then contacted hotels
Com they tried to have the hotel cancel & refund an was denied. Hotels .com then also denied to refund my money. So i had to then pay additional 130 for another room
