I keep coming back here year after year

Posted Sep 14, 2014
I have always loved staying at the Westing Waltham. Both kids went/go to Brandeis, so it is very convenient in terms of location. The renovations are beautiful...tastefully done and serene. The room I had was clean and comfortable...the bed and pillows and comforter were amazing. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I LOVE that there is a Starbuck's downstairs (and in the rooms!). Their fitness center is very adequate. Only negatives are that parking is $15 a day and they charge for internet. Having said that, I will continue to stay here whenever I am in the area.

We love serving our Brandeis family! Thank you for staying with us again this year. We are just as pleased as you are with our new renovations. The lobby and restaurant look amazing and the new menu our chef has created is awesome. And nothing beats our Heavenly Beds! We look forward to serving you and the family on your next trip out to Brandeis.

Nice hotel

Posted Sep 14, 2014
I would have given a higher rating, but I was kept awake by a barking dog in room next to mine. I did not know that this was a pet friendly hotel. Next time will know better.

Thank you so much for staying with us and I’m sorry you didn’t get a perfect night’s sleep. We welcome four-legged guests as well as their owners and sometimes they get a little loud. On your next visit we’ll be sure to provide a quiet room so you can rest in our Heavenly Bed and get the great night’s sleep you are looking for.

Good Stay with a 4 yr old

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Location from Boston.
Cons: The sound insulation between the room and the hallway is weak. Little loud when drunk guests were passing. No fridge but they will give you one if ask
Location: 5 min drive to Costco & major grocery... I needed it.
This is a fairly big facility. It has good gym/equipment, nice Pool & is kid friendly. My room has a sofa bed that is actually comfy for my 30lb 4 yr old. Rooms are roomy. Self parking charge is not impressive consider you are that much outside of Boston. Location is good if you have a little long weekend to go to Boston. It is a short drive 20min from Boston during the weekend and you just pay parking road tolls & use the underground train. At the time we stayed, the hotel is under renovation. I would say it is no big deal for me.

We are thrilled you enjoyed everything the Westin Waltham has to offer; from our Westin Workout, refreshing indoor pool, spacious rooms and comfortable Heavenly Beds. We do offer packages that include internet and parking, so the next time you stay with us definitely look out for one of those! And we cannot wait to finish our renovation and reveal our new restaurant and bar at the end of August!

It's comfort in the hotel!

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: We like the breakfast in the hotel. When we wanted a taxi , the waiter was very enthusiastic. He could even remember my son's name!
Cons: If the cost of the hotel can include breakfast and wifi, so much the better.
Location: We were traveling in the Boston.
Our family traveled to Bosdon for the first time, the Westin hotel is very beautiful. We spent a wonderful holiday here.

Why do we still have to pay for WiFi?

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Stayed because last minute appointment. Very nice hotel BUT $14.95 for wifi for 24 hours. No way I would stay again just out of principle no matter how great the rooms are.

I’m sorry you disagree with our charges for internet. As the only 4 Diamond hotel in the area we do have minimal fees for some of our amenities – I hope these charges do not dissuade you from staying with us in the future. We do offer some great packages that do include internet, parking and breakfast. Be sure to look for one of those on your next trip to Waltham or Boston.

not so hot

Posted Aug 10, 2014
the room was clean but the hotel had very little atmosphere, a tiny pool, terrible dining area, and parking garage was flooded

Our dining area is currently under renovation and we are serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in our ‘Test Kitchen.’ We cannot wait to reveal our new restaurant, bar and menu concepts at the end of August. Our refreshing indoor pool is not the largest but certainly is big enough to relax and rejuvenate yourself after a long day of work or recreation! We would love the opportunity to serve you this fall when our hotel will have been transformed!

My most disappointing Westin experience

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Location. Front desk staff was professional and responsive.
Cons: Planning for the guest experience.
I'm a pretty frequent traveler and enjoys Westins, but wouldn't stay in this one again. Just a poor job thinking through the guest experience. Good hotels, for example, regularly go through renovations, but it doesn't seem anyone at this Westin thought about the impact on guests of their current renovation. By way of one example, among others: There was nowhere to park to unload upon arrival because the entire entryway was blocked by renovations, and there was no signage indicating where to go. All available spots are reserved with "Starbucks Only" signs. And you can't get into the parking garage without your room key. So you're basically stuck blocking traffic just to get in line to get your room key to enter the parking garage ($15/night) opposite the hotel. The valets were nowhere in site. Meanwhile, - the shower dripped all night despite our efforts to silence it. - for the in-room coffee machine they provide only one decaf and one caf coffee pouch each, as if you and your partner might not both want caf or decaf - the restaurant is closed so you have to dine in the "test kitchen," where a single coffee cost $5.50 and the wait staff never checked once in an hour (not exaggerating) if we wanted a re-fresh. I won't belabor the point other than to say there are other choices nearby of nice hotels, and that's where I'll go next time.

Wish I was Staying There Longer

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: I didn't notice an exhaust vent in the bathroom so the door stayed open when we showered. The pool could be bigger.
Location: In a Pickle was a wonderful diner with the best pancakes per my niece and nephew. Every meal was great!
My aunt and I were there to see a friend off on the Pan Mass Challenge bike ride fundraiser for Cancer research. The bike ride started at 7am and we are from CT so to avoid a way to early drive in I researched hotels and was pleased to find the deal we acquired on Expedia.com. The hotel is impressive with its glass exterior, Starbucks coffee in the lobby and in the room, and super comfy beds. We knew there was some construction downstairs so that was not a worry. Parking was convenient even at $15/day and the WiFi was $10 a day. We splurged on the in room snack mini bar and wished we were staying longer to enjoy the comfort more. We swam in the pool which was the perfect temperature albeit a bit small for more than six to ten active swimmers.
