Lovely grounds

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: The grounds are lovely and the breakfast was very good.
Cons: The bar food was very poor. Tiny portions and totally uninspiring. We had to return my wife's caesar salad which had half of the ingredients missing.
Location: Hotel is on the edge of Ware. There is some good walking in the area through nature reserves created from former gravel workings.
We were attending an anniversary party and at the same time there was a wedding reception. Possibly this was too much for the kitchen because the evening meal buffet was devoid of character

Lovely hotel but a tiny double room

Posted Mar 3, 2014
The room was clean, tidy and felt very new but it was difficult for the two of us not to get in each other's way in such a tiny room. A shame aa the hotel, staff and gardens were great.

Lovely Wedding Location

Posted Jan 9, 2014
Pros: Was nice and quiet, felt relatively secluded and had a Victorian, but modern feel to it. The rooms were clean, comfortable and of a good size
Cons: I didn't like how easily my room could be seen into, if I didn't shut the curtains. I also couldn't find the gym
Location: The location is in the middle of noWARE (sorry), but there is nothing of interest nearby, a perfect wedding venue.
Stayed there for a wedding, which was beautiful. A lovely venue to hold it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable, of a good size with a very comfortable bed, nice modern bathroom and a 32 in TV mounted on the wall. Hotel itself was very quiet. The highlight for me was the buffet breakfast, lovely!

Don't expect quality and you won't be disappointed

Posted Jun 17, 2013
Keys were given me upon arrival and I was advised "Your room is over there, in the courtyard" We carried our bags across to find the outside door went straight into the bedroom and all the traffic drives passed the door! As there was a large wedding on, we did not want to be next to the road and based on the swearing going on from the guests outside before they had had a drink, I asked for another room as we didn't think we'd get much sleep! Don't expect any help from the staff as one told me later "We're not allowed to help people, I know when you see the place you expected to be treated better but you don't" Someone else who was working at the hotel said the place "was more about getting people in for weddings and they didn't come back so it doesn't matter what people think"

Courtyard accommodation

Posted May 26, 2013
Clean comfortable stay, in the courtyard rooms. Wish there had been a lift, as we were on the top floor and neither my husband or I are so young anymore!

Nice venue for a wedding or conference

Posted Jan 25, 2013
Pros: The bar & public areas. Lovely building and open fires. Lunch & dinner as well as the extras supplied to conference delegates
Cons: My room was a little tired but that really wasn't an issue in the whole experience
Location: Hotel situated in large grounds. There were some interesting looking bars in Ware but not sure of other local attractions.
Nice setting. Lovely, fresh and modern public areas and bars. Lunch and Dinner was excellent - as were all the little extras provided to us as conference guests. (Fantastic macaroons, great selection of teas & coofees and a tuck shop!) Breakfast was good but not as good as the other meals. I think some bedrooms have been modernised (superior rooms?) but mine was a bit older. However it was quiet, clean, comfortable and had a huge TV! Wifi was so slow we couldn't use it :-(

Great getaway for anyone

Posted Jan 9, 2013
Pros: The outstanding building
Cons: Leaving
Location: Easy to get to but out the way
Me and my wife stayed in one of the cheap rooms (room 34) ,on first opening the door the room did seam quite small however the bathroom more than made up for it. During our time in the room which was only one night we thought the quality and attention to detail was fantastic. All the staff were very friendly even the gardeners always happily said hi and we felt they were genuine and not because they were told to. The breakfast was very good. We walked around the grounds in the morning and they are fantastic we will be going back in the summer just to see them in full bloom .it seams the hotel has put effort in to every part of your stay to make it enjoyable and it worked. The building, grounds ,staff ,and food were all fantastic .Go and stay there you will not be disappointed .

Nice hotel, shame about the room

Posted Mar 22, 2011
hotel was nice, but the room was not very modern and was a bit tired looking. The shower was awful.
