Nice rooms behind a slightly odd pubPosted Nov 23, 2013
Pros: Comfortable room. Very handy for a wedding we were going to.
Cons: Far better lighting. The staff could have been friendlier - all were a bit curt.
Location: In a village just outside Ware in Hertfordshire. No idea what is around there to do, as we were there for a wedding
The rooms were nice, but could have done with a lot better lighting (no bedside lights, my partner didn't dare shave as the bathroom light was so dim, I struggled with putting make up on!), but basically comfortable and quiet. The pub the rooms are linked with was, on the other hand, too bright. So somewhere along the lines the 100W bulbs went into the wrong light fittings!

Nice place, awful nightPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: The place and the Restaurant (Both food and kind ness staff)
Cons: The smell and room conditions as well as the shower
Location: I went for business and I didn´t have the opportunity to visit around
I only was sleeping in this hotel one night but was impossible rest, During the night 3 times sound the fire alarm (Within 2 and 4 AM hours) without any explanation, only when I leave at 6 AM the receptionist answer that was a failure in the alarn system. I don´t be able to rest. Also smell as old wood, carpet or something similar

Nice hotelPosted Sep 28, 2013
We stayed at the Feathers inn as we were at a wedding nearby. We had a family room which was a great size and the extra bed was an actual bed not a z-bed. The bathroom was fine just a bit tatty but very clean throughout. The breakfast the was fab and overall I would stay here again without hesitation. A great room for a great price.

Good weekendPosted Aug 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Comfortable beds and a good breakfast. Attending a wedding close by, the hotel proved to be adequate for our short stay requirements.

The Wedding guestsPosted Jul 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
I travel all over the UK and stay at numerous hotels throughout the year and have stayed in really lovely ones and really dodgy ones and The Feathers sort of falls somewhere just above the middle. It was a strange stay not for any bad reasons or particularly good ones but I found out when I ordered food there was a wedding on and food would be at least an hour, ok, it was ready in 15 minutes so that was fine. I got to thinking I'm not going to sleep because of the noise but I must have been tired because I hit the pillow and the lights went out. The wedding fed my Facebook feeds all evening while I was working in my room so it turned out pretty good, thank you wedding guests. The only real downside and I always come across this, just because its a weekend it doesn't mean some of us aren't working so again on a Sunday morning I didnt get breakfast and no one suggested they could offer a tray, it was a shrug of the shoulders and well thats the time., but apart from that it was ok, food was fine, beer was fine, room was fine

I initially booked the wrong date, that was sorted at an extra cost which I understand, my fault so hotel didn't have to do anything but they did....we had a family room....the double bed was more like 2 singles pushed together....after 3 times of asking about paying cash (as it did say that no money would be taken off my card until departure) when I went to settle up (with CASH as stated 3 times I would be paying) the man behind the counter said "its ok its all been paid"

Feathers hotelPosted Jun 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
I stayed at the feathers for 1 night and found it to be good. Despite turning up quite late, someone came to the reception desk straight away and directed me to my room. Although basic, it was clean and tidy, and contained everything you would need or expect. Overall i was very pleased with the hotel and would definately stay again
