Hotel much better than expected

“Very good country hotel”

The Bosworth Hall Hotel is a large hotel set on a large plot of land. My room was quite satisfactory and I spent a very pleasant 3 nights in it. The land around the hotel provided a variety of walks, some of which I took, as well as places for such games as croquet. For breakfast there was a wide variety of buffet items and there was a good bar menu which I sampled several times (I didn't eat in the restaurant). The hotel is a few metres from Market Bosworth, a very attractive village, and there are many other attractions within a few miles, including the site where the Battle of Bosworth was fought (the site has a great museum). I certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

“Not”

Hotel location lovely, Hotel had a wealth of character and set in beautiful rural Leiciestershire. Rooms were pleasant and spacious. However the levels of soundproofong were a disappointment - there was excessive noise from the corridors as hotel residents passed your room. Not somewhere for a quiet night despite being in the country. Breakfast was average -nothing special. Dissapointing number of TV channels available.

My husband and I stayed the night here for our second wedding anniversary. I booked it very last minute as lots of other places were booked up. I had some reservations as i hadn't really thought of Leicstershire a great place to visit but was pleasantly surprised. Market Bosworth was a sweet little town, hotel grounds were beautiful and there is a lovley country park opposite. we walked round the battlefield as well. We used the swimming pool and the gym looked like it had some good facilities. Most of hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Food was tasty (we ate in the A la carte) lots of choice at breakfast. some areas of the hotel were a little run down but our room was large and shower pressure was fantastic - if you turned it up full blast it hurt!

“Character”

A lovely old building with lots of character and good sized rooms. Nice staff, excellent breakfast. Good facilities.

“Good value - nothing fancy though”

My son (aged 9) and I had a great 4 days here. The room had recently been redecorated and was clean and spacious. Ok the view was a brick wall - but very private and we were using it as a base not a place to gaze out of the window. All the staff we met were really helpful, we ate in Jennys carvery every evening and the food was good with enough choice to please a 9 year old. The pool and jaquzzi were lovely as were the grounds. My only slight grumble is that they had sheets and blankets instead of duvets, but for the price per night (DBB) we got great value considering we could have stayed at one of the large chain hotels that provides lodgings for travellers for the same price.

“Leave plenty of time for Breakfast!”

An extremely impressive building with grounds to match. Market Bosworth is well within walking distance and is a beautiful little town in an attractive area. Once you enter the hotel, things start to go downhill: needs a good clean e.g. carpets and refreshing generally. Worst was the breakfast. Total shambles. Staff simply couldn't cope with the number of people passing through. Long queues, poor quality. Some fellow guests went into town for breakfast.

“Handy(ish) for Donnington”

Stayed here to go to MotoGP at Donnington - takes about 20-30mins if there's no traffic! (Leave early on race day to avoid the queues). Had to wait ages to check in as they seemed more concerned with wedding guests. Hotel looks very grand from the outside, rooms were adequate, food OK but not great.

“bit tired and in need of a refurb”

Breakfast was a let down. All cheap and nasty. Could be a lovely up market hotel but seems to cater for the cheaper end of the market. Could all do with a bit of a refurb and brush up.

“It was OK!”

I was very disappointed at the quality of the service of the reception staff. The hotel is a maze of corridors and no-one indicated the direction I should take,I spent about 10 mins trying to find my room and someone who was able to direct me efficiently. Eventually the young man who helped me was extremely attentive and courteous. The main lights in my room did not work and as I arrived late I relied on side lamps and overspill into the bathroom. The receptionist in the morning had barely a comment or apology to give.
