was good but could of been betterPosted Nov 21, 2012 on Hotels.com
it was lovely grounds and building, staff friendly and room was nice, on the downside the shower was tempermental, the breakfast chauffing dishes didnt keep the food hot. would like to mention that the receptionist was very helpful and nice and one of the waitresses on the breakfast shift was really nice and really appreciated it

Nice but over pricedPosted Oct 11, 2012 on Hotels.com
On arrival we had to walk through a bridal party which we found uncomfortable, almost intrusive. The receptionist was very polite & helpful,we got our key & walked back through the bridal party(While they were posing for professional photos). Our first impression of the room was that it could do with a spruce up,the bed was comfortable but the pillows were hard(personal preference)There is plenty of storage space & the bathroom was big & very clean. My only issue there was the shower,it took me a while to get it at the correct heat then i had to call my partner in to work out how to turn it off. We ordered sandwiches & a drink through room service, my partners was inedible as they had put an ultra thick layer of mustard on it!At £6 a sandwich & £3 for each tray i found the prices ridiculous. I also had a fall in a pothole on the grounds towards the car park,i was left with cuts & bruises which spoilt my whole weekend,i hope after my accident report that they have the potholes repaired. I wouldn't choose to stay here again, especially at the weekends when they have wedding party's.

enjoyed the stayPosted Nov 2, 2011
we really enjoyed our stay at the Brownsover, despite being a very old hotel it had retained the dignity of the time. staff were brillliant and we would certainly stay there again - lovely "old world" atmosphere with modern comforts.
