in the middle of a business park

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: it was near to town
Cons: GPS location pricing - what's included & what's not TV/alarm/quick checkout
Location: things to do include finding a solicitor (Wright Hassell Ltd), shopping (Sainsburys, Next, Morrisons, etc.) driving to the M40 to get away quickly
post code directs to the wrong road (Apollo Way) - both TomTom & Android got this wrong there are no signs from the main road (like they don't want to be found) breakfast is extra £10 prepaid - no option for a non 'full english' wi-fi is an extra! TV comes on when I enter the room - do I want this? Alarm set by previous occupant wakes my partner & me at an ungodly hour quick checkout didn't work Holiday Inn have stopped trying

Timer automatic timer not happy

Posted May 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
On arrival I thought the hotel was great clean tidy, room was fantastic. Unfortunately I was woken up suddenly by the tv auto timer at 7am after a late night that is not what I wanted. When I mentioned it at the desk they just said they are having problems with the new system and a few people had complained. No apology or nothing.

Arrived at midnight, but no problem with reservation. Paperwork already done for us, key provided immediately. English Breakfast was good.

Sufficient for our needs

Hotel was very comfortable and was everything we needed for our short weekend stay. Although the hotel was 'out of town', it was a very pleasant 20 minute walk along the canal into the town centre.

Average hotel

Pros: The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: The decor and furniture could do with updating.
Location: Not applicable.
The staff were very pleasant and efficient. The tea/coffee making facilities were very good and the staff were more than happy to provide extra tea bags and milk. The bed was comfortable, but the decor/furniture is a bit tired.

It was just what we needed - a reasonably priced hotel, clean and well positioned. Helpful staff.

Pros: it suited our need for an overnight stay.
Cons: I think breakfast should be included in room rate. it is very pricey for a breakfast menu.

Nice hotel - a short taxi ride into town

Posted Jan 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
Everything was fine. The only negative thing was that it wasn't close to anywhere you could walk to, like a pub or restaurant, but if a taxi is OK, then it was fine.
