“Big clean rooms! Free wifi in lobby!!”
After a couple of small European hotels, this hotel was very refreshing. The staff was proactive and helpful. The room was quite large and very clean with parking on site. Breakfast was good, and there was free wifi and a computer in the lobby. It's 10 to 15 minutes from the theater.
“Amazing stay in an amazing town”
I arrived at The Stratford at about 12 noon - 3 hours before check in - but without me asking the employee told me that they had a room ready for me and I could go ahead and check in. The room was beautiful and the hotel staff was very helpful with everything I needed to do that day. The breakfast buffet in the morning was very good as well. Out of all the places I stayed during my European trip this hotel was by far my favorite. Just about everything you'd want to do in Stratford-Upon-Avon was in walking distance as well. I cannot wait to go back someday.
“A wonderful find ! ! !”
We were thrilled to find such a nice hotel! After coming from London with hotels with small rooms and old fixtures - we were thrilled to walk into a hotel room with modern furniture, modern bath fixtures and plenty of room to move around. My husband wanted to stay here for our entire trip instead of moving around England and he was right! Our room had two big, high beds, a place to comfortably sit and watch TV, a good sized desk and beautiful linens. The bathroom was very modern with magnifying mirror, deep tub, black granite counter, tiled walls, toiletries, etc. There was a refrigerator in the closet. The hotel was located within walking distance to all the things we wanted to see but we did take the car to a local restaurant for dinner. The grounds of the hotel were lovely with a garden area with benches, etc. This was great as my husband likes to smoke a cigar. Parking was convenient. Breakfast was included and contained the standard buffet items. If you're staying in this area, don't look any further ! ! !
“Good deal, clean and modern rooms”
The hotel was very clean and modern. The room was very nice, and I will probably stay here again the next time I'm in Stratford. The hotel is very close to the train station, but it only takes 5-10 minutes to walk to any other location in town. The free continental & full English breakfast every morning was a definite perk. Two minor problems: 1) the "free" internet was only for 2 consecutive hours per day, not all day long to be used as you pleased; 2), I kept putting the "do not disturb" sign outside my door but the cleaners kept coming in to make up my room anyway; I don't need housekeeping every day and would prefer they would respect my wishes to just to leave the room alone.
“Great Stratford Experience”
We chose this hotel for several specific factors. We were coming to Stratford Upon Avon to attend the Royal Shakespeare Theater and, having been warned about the traffic, wanted to be within walking distance of the theater. The location was reasonably close and we felt safe walking to and from the evening performance. We had also been staying in a B&B, so were looking for a bit more space and modern conveniences... this expectation was well met, as well. The contemporary furnishings and lovely bath, the very comfortable bed, and the large room with teapot, refrigerator and flat screen TV were attractive and clean. It was also plenty roomy to entertain our friends before dinner. The breakfast was also tasty and plentiful. The only detractor, which was not a real problem, was that the common areas, especially the lobby, were not exceptionally well kept or decorated. But, overall, we would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.
“Close to everything”
The Stratford is a few minutes walk from the station and about 5 minutes walk into town so it is very central. The staff was extremely helpful at check in/out and the breakfast (fully cooked buffet) was excellent. Everything was very modern and new. Our room was spacious, modern and clean. The only negatives were the room did smell of food when the air/heat was on but we turned it off and opened the windows and that got rid of it. Also, the bed was a little hard. I would definitely stay here again for either business or pleasure and would highly recommend it.
