Affordable hotel in Georgetown

Posted Jul 7, 2014
We stayed here for the Fourth of July holiday. In general, we have been pleased with all our Best Western experiences and this was no different. Convenient location, friendly staff. Reasonably priced parking. Our room was nice and clean. Beds and linens were great. We would absolutely stay here again.

Located in good area for general tourist purposes.

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Room was very comfortable, provided what we needed for our stay. Rates were less expensive than others in the same area.
Cons: Our particular room had no view. It looked out onto air conditioning units and a brick wall.
Location: This hotel is located near GWU. Walking to DC tourist sites is feasible, but we preferred the Metro after walking so much around the city.
We stayed 4 nights and found hotel staff to be friendly and accommodating. Hotel is conveniently located near 2 metro stations and in quiet neighborhood. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Although hotel seemed a bit older, the room was clean and tidy. Parking is provided at a daily rate with in/out privileges in a shared lot at Ritz Carlton across the street. Breakfast was hot and provided a variety of options. Hotel was quiet and we did not hear any noise from other hotel guests.

Nice hotel

Good location. You can walk to the monuments but it was a little far. We took the metro train the next day and that worked out well.

Good Value

Posted May 23, 2014
Pros: Spacious, had microwave and refrigerator
Location: Good dinner options.
This hotel, while older, had been refurbished. It was clean and well appointed. The metro was only a few blocks away as was George Washington University and Medical Center. Staff were very helpful. I would stay there again.

Great option for lodging in DC

Posted Apr 29, 2014
The Georgetown Best Western was extremely clean and all of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were always greeted when we passed by the front desk. The rooms were maintained very well. The location of the hotel was great. It was within walking distance for everything we wanted to do. Perfect for DC tourists or those looking to check out GWU (practically on its campus). The continental breakfast was as expected. Nothing spectacular, but the coffee was good and that's most important. Other guests seemed to have issues with double bookings, but I did not encounter this. I was very pleased overall and would definitely stay here again.

great location

We flew into Reagan National and took the metro (15 minute ride) to Foggy Bottom and walked (10 minutes) to the hotel. The hotel is a few blocks from the campus of GW and a 15 minute walk to Georgetown shopping/restaurants. Will stay here again.

Close to the mall, but uncomfortable beds

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: The room cleaning staff were very nice. Our teenage boys loved being able to eat danishes and donuts every morning (I stuck to Raisin Bran).
Cons: When someone asks the front desk for help, they should at least get back to the person in a timely manner. It is unprofessional to ignore the request
Location: Really liked the burger place - BTS (Burgers, Taps, Shakes) close by.
Overall this hotel was okay. It was within walking distance of the White House or the metro if you want to ride to other places and that was one of our biggest requirements. The other requirement was for breakfast to be included. Unfortunately, the room was kind of small for my husband, two teenage boys, and me. The purported "sitting area" was a tiny table and two chairs parked in a very tight spot. We thought we were going to get a sofa (which we read on the website, but it is NOT standard) that folds out to a bed, but made the best of it with the two queen beds instead. The beds were VERY HARD, which is great if that is what you like, but makes for sore hips and shoulders for the rest of us. I have rheumatoid arthritis and so asked at the desk if they had anything to help soften the bed. I even spoke to the manager to see if someone could go purchase a foam pad for me and that I would pay for it (we didn't have a car). He was very pleasant and said he would look into it and then never spoke to us again (and I swear he walked to the back room whenever he saw us). Finally I got them to deliver 8 additional pillows and slept on top of them. You make due.
