I was there for 5 days and spent most of the time out of the hotel. When I came home at night all was quiet and comfortable. (I asked for a QUIET room and they gave me one at the back of the hotel - away from most of the school groups that were spending various nights there.)

OK Hotel

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Clean everything behind the walls, use industrial strength carpet cleaners!!! Get rid of the musty smell
The plus point is that the staff are friendly and they will help you to the extent possible - no grumpy characters. The hotel itself.... it's ok... not dirty, just OK. It looks dated and has a musty smell to it. If not for anything... all the air vents, carpets & walls need to be cleaned, vacuumed, scrubbed, bleached, what ever!

It was a very good stay. The breakfast was weak, though, and the door cards wasn't working, so I needed to change. Then they weren't working again.

Terrible experience

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Hotel lost power in the night and could not recover from it till I left ( next noon). AC did not work in the room as a result of power loss and water heater did not work as well so j had to take shower under cold water. Management did not show up to express a simple apology.

We are very sorry for the problems experienced during your stay. Unfortunately our area experienced a major storm with severe conditions during your stay. We did offer everyone the opportunity to check out without penalty if they wished. During extreme weather conditions, our staff did the very best we could with handling the situation. The power company had over 37000 customers without service due to the storm, and our generator can only support the emergency service not all the power required for the hotel. I hope you'll consider giving us another try the next time you visit our area, so we can demonstrate our great service without a power outage

Never again

Posted Jun 23, 2015
We arrived to find the power out in Alexandria and the hotel was running off a generator. My card number had to be written down on paper to be processed later. We were assigned a room on the third floor and notified the elevators were not working. We carried all of our stuff up 3 flights of stairs and found our room. The key did not work. I went back downstairs, got a new key, back upstairs, key did not work. Back downstairs again and brought up an employee, her key did not work. She got the building manager who had no issue opening the door. 25 minutes after arriving we finally entered our room. The room was spacious and clean and the a/c worked wonderfully. After a long day we attempted to shower and go to bed only to find the shower was ice cold. The bed was comfortable but when I tried to plug in my phone, it charged for a second then stopped, then charged, then stopped, presumably due to the generator. The phone in the room did not work. We slept and awoke in the morning to find the elevators still did not work. We found our way to the basement for breakfast and stepped into the "breakfast room" that had apparently flooded and still had sopping wet puddles on the floor. We had some watery eggs and watered down juice. We had to poke our heads into the "kitchen" to find the maple syrup since no staff were present. We then went back up to floor 3, carried our things back down and checked out. I paid full price for this room, plus they held $25 as a deposit...

We are very sorry for the problems experienced during your stay. We did offer every guests the option of canceling there reservations without penalty. Unfortunately your stay was during an area wide severe storm, heavy winds and flooding conditions. The county even closed the road due to the road flooding and trees falling. Though we tried our best, it was a difficult time admittedly. The staff worked very hard, and tired to serve all guests as best as possible. While not the best of circumstances, we did strive to provide what we could during an event beyond our control. We hope you'll consider giving us a try the next time you visit our area. We'd like to demonstrate our great service, when not experiencing a major weather threat.

First time in DC

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful.
Cons: Breakfast room was kind of drab. Could use a little more brightness.
Location: Close to the DC attractions. Took a Monuments tour out of Old town Alexandria on a ferry at night. Very cool!
Nice hotel. I was in to for business. Very convenient location.

Cons: Main door locks was not working properly. Locks can be repaired. The bathroom door did not have a lock at all.
It was a very good experience staying in the hotel.
