Very nice hotel, close to a great part of town!Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: Old hotel architecture, staff, location.
Cons: As mentioned above, creaking floorboards, slow elevator. Surprisingly not a huge deal considering how many floors the hotel has, though.
Location: Tons of restaurants (eclectic, lots of variety), shopping, the Metro. The Washington monument and surrounding sites were 2.4 miles away, an easy walk
The hotel was fantastic! It is an older hotel, and I think they could have done more (in some cases) with the remodel, because I felt like they covered up some of the great architecture, and didn't fix some small things (like wallpaper at baseboards in the bathrooms, and creaking floorboards that were obviously original to the hotel under the carpets, paint on hand carved wood, etc.). However, those items were very minor, and I was looking for them. Overall, the hotel was extremely comfortable (we stayed 4 nights), and surprisingly quiet except for the occasional taxi honking on the street down below (my sound machine app on my phone easily took care of that at night and I never heard them, although a co-worker without one in another room did). The staff were friendly and superb, and the dining staff in the restaurant were fabulous!! Ask for Victor. The location is great for tons of restaurants and sight seeing. When I go back, I will be staying here again!

I was able to check-in early and was upgraded to junior suite, which was a beautiful room! The Churchill has the vintage charm of an old hotel while still having great modern efficiencies.

No ParkingPosted Aug 19, 2014
Hotel was ok. Very old building. Not modern at all and bot many updates. Got there in the afternoon and was informed that their parking was gull. Front desk guy told me to go up side street and there was plenty of free parking. NOT TRUE. I drove around and drove around and there was NO FREE PARKING. Had to go to Marriott Courtyard next door and pay $40 / night.

Charming old hotel near Dupont CirclePosted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: This is an old building with a lot of character and history.
Location: There are lots of fun shops and restaurants nearby and it is an easy Metro ride to museums and monuments.
We had two rooms for five nights, a junior suite and a standard king room. Both rooms were large, clean, and comfortable and we really appreciated that the rooms were close to each other. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful.

Great to be in this beautiful neighborhoodPosted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: The lobby is beautiful, the staff were very friendly and I loved the size of the room.
Cons: Perhaps a microwave in the junior suite...
I was on a trip for work but had some free time in between meetings so it was wonderful to have a spacious room with comfortable and calming decor. The bed was great too! Firm mattress with soft pillows. The neighborhood is beautiful so if you stay here do walk around and see the grand embassies. The Zoo is also fairly close and is quite walkable from the hotel.

Cons: like said above fitness room much to be desired and limited bath counter space
Location: tons of stuff on connecticut ave
micheal mgr was great -willing to give $ back for one night even tho he didnt have to------ but the fitness room was much to be desired----many weights were missing -mat was missing, an exercise ball was missing, and the one they had wasnt inflated enough!- whoever is checking this room should reprt all this not me!! and they didnt have a nautilus machine--- when i went the first time there werent any towels or tissues or head phones! -and the bathroom had very limited space for toiletress but plenty of space to put a shelf and mirror in! was told they would do all that in next renovation

Decent hotel with no parkingPosted Jul 28, 2014
The room was nice and clean, but it took an hour to find parking because the hotel's parking deck was full. No pool and the soda machines were not stocked.
