Value for money

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Cons: Wifi signals in the rooms
Location: The hotel is very close to a lot of restaurants so visitors have a lot of choices.
We had a pleasant two nights stay. The hotel facilities are good and the staff are very helpful. Breakfast is also good. Wifi signals in for the room are weak but are strong near the lobby. It is indeed a value for money stay for my family.

Ok place very close to UMD -walking distance

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Convenient to UMD
Cons: shuttle times. variety of food for breakfast
Location: walking distance to UMD, Denny's, Burger King, McD's, 7-11 across street. Metro trip to DC and Virginia
Hotel shuttle to/from Metro and UMD very convenient but hours not so convenient. Should extend evening hours for folks who go into DC - shuttle ending 7:30pm too early. Maybe offer one per hour until 10pm ? Very helpful letting us put luggage in back room before and after check in as our flights were really early and late. Pretty noisy if you have an inside room as the pool/fun dome areas echo. Lifeguard on duty at all times is awesome ! Continental breakfast same every day - could try some variety but was ok.

Very dated, not clean, poor service. Breakfast is continental at best. Got a look at the kitchen area. Did not eat anything not pre packaged. Even the indoor pool was dirty.

well below expectations

It was very hot out (95deg) so I will grant you, it was just plain uncomfortable out. We checked in, and the atrium was ok, sparse and open, without really anywhere to lounge and work on my computer other than what looked like a shut down restaurant area off to one side. The do have a pool which was crowded with kids right there in the atrium and the AC made it cool enough poolside. Wwe went upstairs and outside the main atrium and the hallways were on the outside of the building, but due to cold weather seasons (I Assume) they closed these hallways in with glass which made them like greenhouses. To top it off, the air conditioning units blew hot air into the confined space making it about 115 deg at least. Finding my room quickly I was troubled to find my room was about 15 deg cooler than the hallway but still around 100 deg. I set the thermostat to the lowest setting at 60 deg and it never got anywhere close to that all night long. It was humid and sticky all night long, and I really missed my own bed at home which is never a nice way to spend a night in a hotel when you are spending money so that you can be uncomfortable. A few other things I noticed that were odd were the general condition of many of the cars in the parking lot - one had more duct tape and cardboard than it did paint. When I book a hotel I will usually try to find places that focus on customer service and a great experience over a low cost extended stay. I wont stay here again.

Glad I was there for only a couple hours

First off, I didn't know that hotels allowed an entire family reunion to be going on through the entire night. Second, there was MOLD in my shower and on the edges of the carpet. The house cleaning staff couldn't speak a lick of English, and the front desk people knew about as much as the homeless guy sleeping on the back sidewalk. I'm NEVER staying in College Park, MD again

Not great

I stayed at the Clarion on a business trip. The outside walkways and stairwells were a little smelly and the shower water temperature never stayed constant. It's an older hotel that needs a some upgrading.

SPEND A LITTLE MORE MONEY FOR A BETTER HOTEL

Posted Jun 1, 2014 on Hotels.com
The rooms are smelly and dirty. The bathrooms have mold and mildew everyone. The rooms are noisy. I could hear the conversations for all the other quests from my room The plumbing is out dated and loud. All night I could hear the toilets being flushed in the other rooms. We got no sleep at all. To top everything else someone sold a Ralph Lauren shirt out of my luggage. Please spend a little more money and get a decent hotel.
