Nice hotel with some reservations and concerns

Pros: Manners and friendliness of staff and location
Cons: Deliver what you promise
Location: Visited our son, a university professor, and visited iconic sites
Having put $1400.00 deposit for room via Expedia over a month in advance, we discovered it was not the room we thought we were getting. VERY small room with two beds occupying essential the whole room. No place to sit except at uncomfortable desk chair or on the beds (versus the floor!). My wife and I have have stayed in expensive hotels and spartan hotels and generally we are not demanding folks; however we think this room and SMALL bathroom were carved out of the overall building as an afterthought. The staff was nice and apologized; we thought the class thing to do was to stoically stick it out. For the future: Live and learn and catalogue experiences.

It is not worth the price. The hotel smelled of marijuana at times. The sirens were heard easily in the rooms.

Pros: Comfortable , clean and friendly.
Cons: Breakfast was very disappointing - all plastic crockery & cutlery with sugary food. So tacky and wasteful having plastic plates and bowls thrown away
Location: Reasonably central - need to get a cab into town unless you like walking.
A pleasure - comfy , pleasant and modern. The only let down was the breakfast - please use some china rather than plastic.

Great, but Small rooms!

Overall, it was a pleasant stay - the room was clean, the staff were kind and helpful, there was a great breakfast every morning and even freshly baked cookies put out in the afternoon. Our only complaint was that the room was incredibly small - when we originally made our reservation online we selected the king size room. When we arrived, the "king bed" was truly just a full sized bed. I don't think the room big enough to host a bed any larger than that.

Safe location close to metro station.

Pros: We liked that the hotel room had a refrigerator and that there was a microwave available for use in the lobby.
Cons: It would have been nice to have more variation in the breakfast selection since we were there 4 mornings in a row.
Location: It was an 8 minute walk to the subway metro station. It took 45 minutes to walk to the capital. It took 20 minutes to walk to the White House.
Great place to take family of 4. We didn't need a pool, or other extra frills. We just wanted a safe, clean hotel and a free, warm breakfast. The staff was very helpful. We didn't hear noise between floors or between the walls as we have at other hotels. It was quiet and comfortable.

Very friendly staff

This hotel was in a good location, walking distance to the metro and the Whitehouse. The rooms are a little small, but the friendliness of the staff was superb!! They were VERY nice to our family and helpful in giving us advice, directions, etc to make our trip a great experience.
