“perfect locale”

We stayed during a conference at the Convention Center. It was the perfect location. We walked to the conference, came back for lunch and walked back to the conference for the afternoon. The hotel lunch buffet offered during weekdays is amazing!! We also walked to the Verizon Center and watched the Caps play. A fantastic weekend!!

“Fit our needs”

The Crowne Plaza Hamilton fit our needs for a hotel close to the heart of Washington, DC. Our corner room was on the 9th floor with a view of the park on one side. The traffic noise was to be expected so the night's sleep wasn't the best even if you have ear plugs (which were provided). Our room was large enough and the bed comfortable. It was nice to find that the shower had great water pressure and very hot water. Everyone at the Hamilton was helpful and the look of the hotel classic. This was appreciated by our traveling couple as the husband is a custom builder who like older styles.

“Perfect Stay !”

We checked in for 2 nights and every aspect of our stay was perfect. We had booked a king room which was available, but we were offered a queen on a higher floor, overlooking the park, which was a nice touch. We were able to look at both rooms and decide for ourselves. All staff we dealt with were extremely helpful. Concierge (Michelle) helped us with various requests and we also had amazing service in the hotel bar from Khaled and his colleagues. Location of hotel is excellent. It was extremely clean and comfortable. Ice machine and vending machines on each floor and only a 2 block walk to CVS. We would highly recommend the hotel and would certainly stay there again.

Area recommendations

We visited Georgetown and loved the main drag (M Street). Also, make sure to go down 2 blocks passed the canal and down to the Potomac River edge. If you want to go shopping Georgetown has great shops. We also took a trip to Potomac Mills Shopping Mall (30 miles out of DC) where there are 220 outl;et shops ! Apart from that we simply "walked the Mall" taking in The Whitehouse, Washington Monument, Lincoln Monument and Thomas Jefferson Monument. We also visited the Holocaust museum (free) which was excellent if somewhat sobering.

“Like the formula”

On arrival, the personnel gave a brief tour, and followed up with a phone call to the room if all was good. Room was great, suite alike, not too big, but comfy. Smart layout and the right features make this room a great place. I will certainly look for the next hyatt place!

“Cozy Beds”

I stayed at this hotel following the earthquake and because there was a hurricane coming. I am happy that I did. I was very comfortable as I slept well and it put me in close proximity to my overnight job, which kept me from missing my Saturday night shift as Hurricane Irene rolled through the city. My only concern is that the food is overpriced. If you are going to spend big on food head across the street to DC Coast. You have to remember that many buildings in DC are very old. This one is no different. That adds to its great flavor. Other than that, the staff is great and I love living in DC.

Area recommendations

, Dupont Circle, Georgetown, Adams Morgan all have great restaurants. If you are coming to DC do not limit yourself to the monuments, museums and fast food. There are some great chefs in this city. Avoid the chains and go to L' Enfant Cafe 18th Street, NW in Adams Morgan for a crepe. You will be happy you did.

“Very impressed- would stay at Crowne Plaza Hamilton next time!”

Crowne Plaza Hamilton was a perfect choice for our family- 4 adults, 2 children -11 and 8. Staff was wonderful, very helpful and accommodating. Our room was clean and nicely furnished. The breakast buffet was beautifully presented as well as giving us so many great choices! Delicious!!!! Location was great- all transportation options available- we were able to walk to most of the museums! Next time we'll book 4 days!!!

“Won't be back.”

The lobby smelled funky. And not the good kind of funk like George clinton and parlimentfunkadelic. Also, the ac didn't work for jack in the room. It was barely cool enough to sleep in and house keeping came by a tad early for my taste. The staff was very professional though. All in all you're better off going to the phoenix. Its about the same price and much closer to union station and the capital.

Area recommendations

Glover park, georgetown. Great food, cool stores, nice might life.
