Easy walk to park on top of hill. Quiet and clean. Not luxury but nice. People nice. Could not take a bath as plug did not work nor could I switch from shower to bathtub faucet (shower knob would not turn). microwave and frig. ironging board and iron which we used. Wifi fast. Office printed parking certificates for 50 cents per page which was ok. Breakfast included making waffles with real butter which was very nice and a surprise.

This property looks like it's from the 60's. Nothing is updated since its inception. this hotel feels like one of those abandoned steel factories from decades ago.

The hair dryer didn’t work, the tv had 7 channels and 2 had no sound. The bathroom had mold in the corner and what looked like feces on the ceiling.

The staff was wonderful!!! The rooms were terrible there was bugs towels weren't set up it wasn't even a heater in the first room!!! The whole place should be condemned have to outlets either don't work or so sloppy that they won't even hold outlet plug.. the place is so old and needs so much updating that it is basically unfit and should be condemned.

I didn't like that I had to pay a $75 security deposit, and it took almost a week to get back.

Thank you for your review.As you might not know, most things in life are requiring a security deposit (apartments, ice skates, bowling shoes, rental cars) and hotel rooms are also doing this. The 5 to 10 business days for the refund of any money is your bank's processing time, as stated in their TOS that you sign when getting the card.I hope this helps.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. My room was falling apart, horrible stains everywhere on the walls, a massive white stain on the floor by the door, hairs on the bed and towels, scorch marks on the ceiling, gum on the bed, old fixtures that were falling out of the wall. This "hotel" is "inn" style, so anyone can walk by and look in, unless you have your curtains drawn REALLY well. A roach crawled out of my bathtub when I went to take a shower. The elevator was so rickety and no one helps you take your stuff to your room, the one pushcart is on its last legs, and having arthritis I had a huge problem trying to get it to my room on the second floor. I checked out the next morning but somehow they still charged me the $75 hold fee? It's been almost a week trying to get my money back from Expedia.

Yes, there is a security deposit for all people, to prevent many of the issues you mentioned and so we can replace or repair items that are damaged by people. Unfortunately, dealing with a third party booking agent makes it difficult to retrieve money due to their policies, even when we offer refunds. We do hope for the best.

Everything in the room was neglected and old. The only good thing was that the employees were very helpful. The door to the room was not secure. The main wall consisted of glass and we had to close it with a curtain, a design that violates privacy.It felt like sleeping on the street. If there was a photo showing the design of the room, I would definitely not choose this hotel. The heating was nice. The soundproofing was very bad. Towels and sheets were clean. The furniture and rooms were very old, I didn't even want to use the bathtub. The carpets were not hygienic because they were old.

The room doors lead to the outside. Their were unscrupulous people hanging around. I asked for a room on the 2nd level. They refused. I did not check in as I was afraid for my safety. The lobby smelled bad and the place was not clean. I left and had to go to another hotel. I would like a refund

staff was rude and curt. There was wear and tear all over the building but that doesn't bother me too much. However, the room was in rougher shape with warn out fixtures and broken outlets. There was also really loud banging/grinding sounds in my room. Not sure if they were from the ice machine, elevator or something else but they were going on and off all night.

Roach roommates were the best thing about this place. The mattress looked like someone got stabbed or shot in the head on it- I was checking for bed bugs ( surprisingly found none) and found a giant rust-colored stain instead. I checked in late at night and the area around the motel (this is NOT a hotel!!) is absolutely terrifying. The elevator isn’t even inside and yes, some random person was just hanging out in there riding it up and down.

I liked the fact that they had breakfast included in the stay and it was very good. I did not like that my refrigerator did not work and so I could not put food in it. I called the front desk but the instructions I was given did not get the refrigerator back working.

Here are a few things about out stay at this hotel. 1. upon checking in, I asked the clerk how far Old Town of Alexandria was from the hotel, (there was a map of it on the counter) He said he had no idea maybe 15 minutes. 2. The pictures on Hotels.com did not correctly show the room condition. It was very run down. The tub leaked all the time. Fixing this would help their water bill and I am sure there were multiple rooms that had this same issue. Someone below us was vaping in their room and it was coming us into our room. (these are non smoking rooms) We told the front desk about it. Holes in the sheets. These should be tossed. When I checked out, the desk clerk was outside and took my key. She didn't ask me how our stay was or about the room. If I had not already paid through hotels.com we would have moved hotels on the first night. Several years ago I was a hotel manager so I know many things could have may the room nicer for paying customers, and certainly the front desk staff should know the area to answer questions.
