Great location

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Location and rate met our needs.
Cons: A mini fridge in our room would have been even better, but it was a basic, useful, clean room.
The location is nestled between the Dupont Circle area, the U Street corridor and the 14th street nightlife. It was very convenient for the itinerary on our trip. There is no parking nor driveway at the hotel. You will have to walk from a parking garage a couple of blocks away, or find street parking. On the weekends, you will not need to pay for street parking, but it can be tricky to find. We did not plan on spending any significant time in the hotel, so it met our needs just fine. Very small TV (which we never turned on). Tidy room with bathroom.

Embassy Inn

Pros: Price.
Cons: Facilities.
Location: DuPont Circle is very clode, very fun on the weekends if your 20s or 30s.
Drove into the city with some friends for a birthday, went back to hotel after the night was over. Nice room and accommodations, but the ice machine was terrible. I could only find a warm glass of water to drink.

Shortened stay

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Two things I found really difficult about my particular room, admittedly the lowest budget scale available. The room smelled dank, the recycled air from the air conditioner did not serve to freshen it though it cooled well. The window could be opened, and I would have been happy with that, except the bit of alley it opened to housed the external air conditioners for the next building - and they were very very noisy! There was no shelves or cupboard; perhaps that is not the practice in DC. I found an alternate place, and the hotel staff were accommodating in accepting my 24 hour notice and not charging for any further days.

Simply my worst stay of all my trips to the USA

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: The location. The hotel is within walking distance from many landmarks and tourist attractions in Washington DC.
This was, by far, my worst stay ever. I simply wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Why? Well, the front desk staff wasn't kind (in fact, some of them bordered rudeness), the hotel doesn't seem well-maintained (carpet full of stains), but the worst was the room I stayed in: broken furniture, ripped wallpaper, missing tiles in the bathroom floor (!!!) and a worn-out mattress with a huge depression in its center. Adding insult to injury, my room was located right beside the laundry. Guess what? The hotel maids sat on the floor right in front of my door, chit-chatting and laughing loudly - I couldn't rest/relax while in the room due to the noise!

Not much there

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Location to Dupont Circle.
Cons: The room can't be made any bigger, but the furniture, linens, carpet, etc., were worn out, and the room was not very clean.
Location: Great neighborhood with the city sites and nightlife all at your doorstep (though I was just there for a bus. meeting).
Tiny room, a little grubby. Location is nice but not much else.

Located 10-15 minutes from Howard University

Small hotel in a relaxing and quiet neighborhood; Dupont Circle. Just 10 mins from the White House and surrounding capital with enough restaurants and eatery nearby. Hotel is ideal for short trips and rooms accomodate minimum 2 persons. However bedding could be more firm, bathrooms more spacious; especially lower level and breakfast have a wider variety. Overall a comfortable and ideal spot to be

At 20 minutes from the White House

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: At 20 minutes walk from the White House. Possible to visit around. Hotel staff: better on the second day.
Cons: Have the door unlock with a card, we have to ring and wait for them to open the door. No smokers in the main entrance. Reduce parking fees
Location: At 20 minutes walk from the White House. Possible to visit all around.
At 20 minutes from the White House. We stayed one night and wanted to be close to the area of the White House. A bad surprise: 30 dollars more to park the car (parking suggested by the hotel because they have no parking - different owner) and extra fees if you dont leave the parking before 8:30 am. This will probably make us go somewhere else next time. The breakfast cost 5$ extra (no eggs). We choosed to go to another restaurant nearby.

No bad but could have been better.

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: It was clean.
Location: I liked the location. It was walking distance from the restaurants and the White House.
The hotel was ok but the location of the room was not. Our room was in the basement of the hotel and the view was a wall looking up at the sidewalk. The shower was too small and the tiles in the shower floor was all over the place.

Basic cheap city centre accommodation.

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Shower very good. Central location.
Cons: Cramped room, coffee pot very stewed by end of day.
Location: City centre.
Room very cramped, only really big enough to be a double not twin with two double beds.
