Under renovation

The hotel was under renovation so there were loud noise all day. Very annoying and did not know about it before check in. Very basic breakfast. And they were short on staff so you have to wait for 10 to 15 mns to get your fried eggs. The bellmen were very sweet and helpful.

Corporate Greed Trumps Customer Comfort

Pros: The room was comfortable. The personnel did their best under trying circumstances. Not their fault.
Cons: Close the hotel when the noise level is so high. Have third parties selling hotel rooms (like EXPEDIA) advise customers about construction.
Location: In middle of mall-like pavilion with lots of shopping. Nearby you can look for ear plugs.
Well overall I liked the hotel EXCEPT for the fact that it was undergoing a MAJOR renovation. Seriously Hilton/Embassy Suites, you simply need to close your hotels when you have scores of jack hammers pounding away INSIDE the lobby smashing concrete blocks. Yes, it was nice that they had someone making omelets but you had to scream your order across the bench to the chef because of the construction noise. Even in the rooms it was very, very loud. Workmen were circling through the hallways with brooms to sweep up the dust while wearing dust masks over their faces! They should hand out dust masks to the guests as they check in. What an absurd situation. Close down the hotel and lose a few dollars instead of leaving such a bad taste in the mouths of your paying guests. Manager said a banner at their site warned about the construction. There was nothing on the Expedia site. Beware.

Pros: convenience.
Cons: free wifi, Conclusion of renovation of hotel. Towels for pool. Happy hour offerings were rather meager and cheap (chips, veggies and dip).
Location: Convenient to mass transit. Lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance.
Nice place, very convenient to mass transit and hotels/shopping. The hotel is undergoing renovations, and there are disruptions to the breakfast/happy hour facility and main desk. There was also noise 9 am to 3-4 pm. They did about as well as could be expected with those disruptions, and with the discounted price we got (presumably as a result of those issues), it was well worth it. There is a lounge which provided free wifi, so we did not need to pay the hotel the fee they sought for wifi. Breakfast was fine, but the happy hour offerings of chips, dip and vegetables were disappointing.

Cons: the bathrooms were a bit small
Location: tons of activities for the whole family
fourth of july weekend staff was great helped us get around D.C. by subway which was right beneath the hotel.The breakfast was awesome each morning and with reasturants and a CVS within the building our overall stay was great.I will surely stay there again.

Easy Metro

Really appreciated metro being attached to hotel. Lots of dining options in area. Loved Booeymongers. Take Bethesda exit for even more dining. Hotel is near excellent shopping within walking distance. DC attractions are "close" but not walking distance. Must take bus, metro or taxi to attractions. Get a Smartrip metro card. Easy to refill. We do not live near public transportation and found the metro easy to understand and having it at hotel very convenient and safe. The room was excellent. Had 5 people with 2 in king, 2 teenagers on pullout couch and preteen on rollaway. Appreciated door between rooms. Kids could watch own shows. Decided $17 was too much for movie so watch general TV. Breakfast was great. Omelets were yummy. Kids wish more selection in pastries. Kids and parents enjoyed the managers reception with courtesy beer/wine and soft drinks. They had some games out to play too. I'd stay again.

Great hotel and super convenient to the Metro

Pros: It was easy to get into the city from the Metro station located in the hotel.
Cons: Free WiFi would be better, they did charge for it, so we left the laptop home to save a little.
Location: Great restaurants in the hotel. We loved Cheesecake factory and if we weren't traveling with young children, would have tried Range.
We were treated very well at the hotel during the stay. The kids loved the complimentary breakfast and the pool. We enjoyed relaxing at the happy hour at the end of the day after seeing the sites.

Perfect for families

Easy access to metro and thus all attractions. Nice place for family to stay. Two rooms was key for winding down. Nice breakfast with ample seating. Kids enjoyed the board games & cheese & crackers provided during the evening reception - very good sangria

Pros: Good bed, great breakfast
Cons: the fact tht one has to PURCHASE an internet connection in 2014 is inexcusable. Rasie the roomrate if you like, but I do NOT like paying for internet
