Excellent Georgetown location!

I liked this hotel for its location and for its traditionnal almost ancestral look and feel! I had a room on the 6th floor on the back side, so I did'nt hear the cars on the street side. Upgrading as a Gold-Member was easy too.

Great location. Great room.

Pros: Location and room.
Cons: Parking is $10 more than other garage.
We stayed in this hotel for one night during the Labor Day weekend. The reason we chose the hotel was the location. What surprised us was the room is very spacious. Beds are very comfortable. But parking is $35 for 24 hours. Comparing to other garage, it was $10 more. So we did not park there.

Very disappointed

Stayed 3 nights while bringing daughter to Georgetown- that the hotel was full was no excuse for inadequate staffing! Parents trying to get to events at the school has to wait 30 minutes to check out and to get cars each day as only 1 staff at desk and one valet parking attendant at all busy times. Self parking not allowed so be prepared for an extra $35 a day! Also, our bathroom in a suite was horrid- a shower in what seemed a plastic bathtub, with the shower door opening into the bath room dripping all over the floor, threadbare towels and no stopper in the sink . Desk staff would not allow a late checkout based on the schools end of events on Sunday leaving parents scrambling to get to cars and many very upset!

Hotel right in George town

The person at the front desk was very friendly. The beds were comfortable and that all I was looking for. The hotel was clean and fresh. Nothing was faded or shabby and the toiletries were nice. The drain in our shower was clogged up, so they offered us another room. That worked out nicely.

Close to EVERYTHING

I must say the hotel is older but has a very nice vintage feel. It is fairly close to the landmarks in DC. There are LOTS of shopping in walking distance. We especially enjoyed a little store within the block that sold and delivered..."spirits" to keep any party going. Because of the night life, lots of nice bars, I recommend this to a younger crowd. I loved that the hotel has a complementary umbrella, which we needed, and slips a note under your door with the next days weather. We were originally placed on the 4th floor but the neighbors were FIGHTING hard, the staff quickly moved us to the 6th floor far away with no questions asked and the view was beautiful.

Paying for location

Posted Aug 3, 2014
You are paying for location for a stay in Georgetown. Our room was a double queen room; awkward room set up, TV too far away for late night bed viewing; couch was worn down; refrigerator available @ an extra charge, that is stymieing to me; raised floor of tile walking into bathroom...uncomfortable; no fan in bathroom; high charge options for parking. Not impressed.

Location, location, location!

This hotel is tucked into the heart of Georgetown. I gave my car to the valet and then walked all around Georgetown for the rest of my stay. It's the perfect spot to explore and enjoy Georgetown.
