Hot water issuesPosted Mar 25, 2015
We had two rooms. I had to try several times over the course of an hour before I could get the water got in the shower. My dad got into a hot shower in the other room but a few minutes in the water turned cold!

It was close to UMD and shopping area.Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Clean, breakfast was plentiful, and service was great.
Cons: The pool was not that clean, the workout room had no ventilation and the stationary bike was uncomfortable. The bar fridge in the room made loud noises
I was visiting my child that attends UMD and wanted to stay in a hotel that was close by.

great hotelPosted Mar 16, 2015
The Hampton Inn on Baltimore Avenue is a great location for a hotel when you need to stay in the College Park area. It's convenient to 495. It's hard to beat an included breakfast and an indoor pool when staying with your family. You're welcomed in the afternoon/early evening with cookies in the lobby w/ a setup for making tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. The pool is kept warm.

Good for familiesPosted Feb 18, 2015
Pros: The breakfast was great and so was the indoor pool. The staff was very nice and friendly.
Cons: My husband would say the pillows, other than that it was fine.
Location: We visited the Baltimore Aquarium and the Inner Harbor Area.
My husband and I stood with our 2 children (2 and 5) at this hotel this past weekend. The breakfast was great. They had many options; from cereal to waffles. We had the opportunity to enjoy the indoor pool. It was the perfect size and ranges from 3 and half feet to about 4 or 4 and a half. It was nice and warm, but the area outside of it was a little on the cool side. Overall I would recommend the hotel to families looking for a nice place to stay close enough to the attractions, but away from the hectic hustle and bustle. We went to the aquarium which was about a half hour away. If you go, just get there before 9 as parking is much cheaper if you enter before 9.

Great hotel for touring Washington DCPosted Jan 9, 2015
Pros: Clean, comfortable bed, great bathroom, pretty view.
Cons: One morning it took a while for the hot water to come on...we were on the 5th floor.
Location: All Smithsonian Museums, White House, the Mall, Union Station, Mt. Vernon, U. of Maryland.
My daughter and I stayed here the day after Christmas then for 4 nights. We knew the area and find it easy to maneuver from here in to the city. On the weekend we parked at the College Park Mass Transit station...it is about half an hour into the city to various points, we were going to Union Station and then on foot to tour the Capital. Cost was $4.15 each way per person with a Smartrip card. Parking at College Park garage is free on weekends. Hotel is clean, easily accessed from both 495 and 95 to route 1, near restaurants and Ikea. It has an good hot breakfast which variies each morning but with basics, good coffee, fresh fruits, omelets, sausage, hot and cold cereal, yogurt, juices, muffins, waffles. The Next day we drove across town to the National Cathedral on Wisconsin Ave...it has free parking for services, then we drove down to Georgetown and parked for $20 at one of the underground lots to wander and dine. Our third day was an easy drive to Mt. Vernon and back. Hampton Inn is an excellent base for Washington touring.
