Not bad, not great

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Hotel staff were very friendly and the were the best part of the stay. The hotel breakfast was good and our room was clean. But the room was small and our AC didn't work right leaving our room feeling damp. The room did have a microwave and mini-fridge which was nice. There was also a safe but it wasn't working right and we didn't trust it. It's about 10 mins to the nearest Metro station at the end of the Orange line so if you're staying here to go into DC, don't. It's a 30-40 min ride to anywhere you want to visit and costs $5 each way per person. You're better off finding a hotel in the city or Alexandria.

Locked Door and horrible staff

Posted Jul 20, 2015
When we got there the room was locked from behind we could not get it open we had to go back downstairs to get a staff to open and he was the only one working the night shift we were kept waiting for about 30 minutes before they could get the door open. We Got locked out of our room due to the same issue again on the second day they had to break open the lock on the door and it took them about an hour and the staff said the door has been having the same issue for some months now that we were not the only one locked out of that room. The front desk staff was very rude and nor friendly we had a terrible expriencw

Not bad

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Not too bad for the price. Breakfast and parking included which was a plus. Shuttle to the metro. Took about 15 or so minutes to get there. Didn't get to use the pool. Only open until 8:00. Not much for restaurants within walking distance.

Don't be afraid

Posted Jun 28, 2015
This is a nice reasonable chain hotel that looks like all the other Holuday Inn Express hotels. It's right on a main, busy road, easy to get into and out if. Breakfast was just fine. I was there for a week and there were two kids tour groups and not a single problem. The fridge and microwave were clean and worked fine. This doesn't look like a great neighborhood on the map, and while I wouldn't go for a late night run by myself it is basically just an older suburban area.

Rough neighborhood, shabby rooms.

Posted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: It was pretty close to the Metro station. Free shuttle rides there.
Cons: It's just a middle of the road hotel. Better breakfasts, better service? Not sure this hotel wasn't at it's full potential.
Location: It was pretty close to the Metro station. Walmart right across the street. Some fast food places nearby. Close to beltway, easy access to freeway.
Neighborhood is ROUGH. The rooms are a bit dated, peeling wallpaper, musty smelling. Bathroom is small, shower head came up to my chin. Came in one night around 9pm and asked for towels, the front desk didn't have access to them said I had to wait till morning (9am). Then they even ran out of towels one morning. Breakfast was adequate at best. Runny eggs. Some mornings pancake machine didn't work. OJ came out like water. Cable TV would cut out occasionally. Would not stay in this hotel again.

Decent priced hotel close to DC

Posted Jun 14, 2015
Hotel experience in general was great, the hotel its self is pretty decent, it feels comfortable and safe. Our room was a double room with two 'queen' sized beds. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the room was a 'musty' smell, but it went away the following day. There's a flat screen TV, with a good selection of basic channels. Overall the room was clean, including the bathroom. The shower worked fine and so did our toilet. The free breakfast was pretty good, they had a good selection of food. As far as security there is fence around the whole property and cameras, the parking lot is fairly clean, with additional spaces behind the property. The area is fairly suburban obviously with a walmart nearby and more fast food restaurants down the street. It is about 10 mins from DC and the metro station.

Very Comfortable Stay

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: Quiet, comfortable room.
Location: Not a lot going on around the hotel. There is a Burger King close and a WalMart across the street.
Stayed here for six nights. Prices were reasonable for the area and was convenient to where we were visiting (Hyattsville, MD). It was a better location for us than the College Park hotels which were more convenient to UMaryland. We were on the 5th (top) floor toward the back of the facility and it was very quiet. Breakfast was very nice with both hot and cold selections. Not extensive but adequate. Would definitely stay here again.
