“Personal service outstanding!”

Clean, well kept, and a wonderful staff. Everyone was helpful and very friendly. Although they are outside the area of the metro, they provide an efficient shuttle service on a regular basis. The room was comfortable and roomy. This is an excellent value in the DC area. We will return.

“Couldn't wait to leave!!!!!!”

Not a place where I would stay again or recommend to anyone else. The service wasn't at all professional and the room conditions were less than desirable.

“A Good Deal for the Price”

We stayed in a double bed room. The room was spacious, old furnitures, nothing fancy but overall in decent conditions. The staff was friendly and courteous. The continental breakfast was actually very good. More than what we expected. There were hot food such as eggs, oatmeal, and make your own waffles. Plenty of cereal, muffins, bagels, pastries, fruits,coffee/tea, and juices. We didn't use the shuttle bus but it was running until midnight. We drove from the hotel to downtown DC. It was a short and easy drive. We would stay in this hotel again. Good price for a decent hotel.

“Good Experience, Smooth as Silk.”

Breakfast was the best i have saw in a hotel, employees would go out of their way to help. Free shuttle to Metro staton, just call and they were there within 15 minutes.

Area recommendations
The Cheverly Maryland location was good I thought.

“Not a Bad Hotel”

I stayed at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Cheverly for one night. Myself and my girlfriend left in the early morning to arrive there around 8am. The staff were very nice and we were aloud to use their shuttle service to the metro station to go visit the Smithsonian for the day. The shuttle took us there and when I called to pick us up we didn't wait at all, the van was sitting in the parking lot ready! The surrounding neighborhood was pretty unsettling, the day we left there was a drug bust down the road, and i'm use to this kinda stuff living in Philadelphia. I felt safe leaving my car and in the hotel, just not driving around an area i knew nothing about. The bed was not that comfortable but like I said it was only for one night. I would def go back for the price and the really good free continental breakfast they give in the morning!

“Solid Stay”

I'm not sure the non-smoking room was actually non-smoking. The heating wasn't functional yet. Otherwise, the room was nice and I had a pleasant stay.

“Howard Johnson near Washington DC”

I am pretty satisfied with the hotel. This hotel is 15 minutes drive from Washington DC. Location is very good and the price is also good. Staff was good and they provide good breakfast.

“Good hotel with free shuttle to nearest metro”

The number one reason we choose this hotel was that it offered a free shuttle service to Cheverly metro station. Cheverly is on the orange metro line and connect with DC. We were extremely satisfied with the shuttle service. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious. It was convenient to have a fridge and microwave in the room. The continental breakfast was quite good. Malls and eat-outs are about a mile away. The only complaint we had was that the air conditioning was a little too slow in cooling the room. Overall, we were highly satisfied and would recommend this hotel.

“Pleasantly surprised for the price”

I was very surprised and pleased with our stay, especially for the price. The room was very clean. Also, the bathroom was well stocked, at least for a hotel in this class. Remember, this isn't a $200 a night extravaganza here. The beds were comfortable, 3 pillows per bed, and extra blankets. I didn't really think there was anything wrong with the neighborhood, the parking lot has two entrances off of the main roads, and the rest of the property seems to be fenced off securely. The staff at the desk that checked me in and out were polite, courteous, and accommodating. I didn't use the shuttle service since the hotel is only about 10-15 mins outside of the monument locations, so I can't comment on the service. Considering the price and location, I would definitely stay again the next time I'm in the DC area. The only thing lacking was any sort of directory in the room, i.e. channel listings, what's in the area, etc., but the lobby was well stocked with attraction pamphlets and info about places to eat, etc.

Area recommendations
just 10-15 Mins outside of downtown and all of the monuments, capital, white house, the national mall. Go see it all.
