The hotel fit in very nicely with the historic character of the district. It was traditional in the best sense of the word. The sitting room and common areas were very pleasant and the staff was uniformly excellent. The complimentary coffee in the morning and wine in the evening were also an added bonus.

If you are looking for a quaint, reasonably priced hotel that has an excellent staff and beautiful rooms close to the DuPont Circle District of DC the Topaz Hotel is the one. The staff could not have been nicer, and the room was beautifully furnished and in excellent condition.

We had a wonderful vacation in Washington DC staying in the Madera Hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful, suggesting some great local restaurants and meeting all our needs. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing at the end of a busy day with a glass of wine during their free sundowner time and we met such interesting travelers.

The Rouge is a 15 minute walk to the White House and close to wonderful and affordable restaurants. The hotel room has been updated and modernized. Our room had 2 queen beds and was very spacious. The staff was always helpful and offered good advice. Not only was there free coffee in the lobby every morning, the hotel hosts a free wine happy hour daily from 5 to 6. It was fun looking at the faces of new guests as they arrived to check in and were asked if they wanted a glass of Chardonnay or Cabernet. You know their travel experience was bumped up a notch. The next time we find ourselves in the DC area, we will, without a doubt, be staying at the Rouge again.
