Close to the Capitol, not entirely accommodating.

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: The location to the U.S. Capitol was ideal and the room had nice amenities.
Cons: Customer relations and prompt, resourceful replies to inquiries.
Location: The U.S. Capitol and National Mall, as well as other various museums and attractions.
Upon arrival, I was notified that there was only one room left with a King bed and that it was on the second floor. I was okay with this considering I had shown up at 2am dues to flight delays. I just wanted somewhere to sleep. The next morning I approached the front desk and requested a room change; I was told that they would let me know after room-cleanings took place. I waited until the afternoon and never received a phone call. I stopped back by the front desk after being out and about for the day and was told there were still no rooms available. This took place every day for the entirety of my 3-night stay. My room, again located on the Second floor had no view whatsoever and was located adjacent to the custodial cleaning room (i.e. very noisy at all times of the day).

Pros: The room was lovely!
Cons: The internet was slow. There was no refrigerator in the room.
Location: It is just a few blocks from the Capitol building!
The hotel lobby was gorgeous and very clean. The management was sweet and friendly. The room was bigger than we had anticipated. It was very clean, had a nice set up, and was spacious. The in-room accommodations were excellent!

Expectations exceeded

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: The rooftop pool area was gorgeous. The food at Art & Soul was delicious. I ate there three times and every time the food was exceptional.
Cons: The lobby is very small, but people seemed to enjoy it.
Location: Great location. Two blocks from the Capitol. Two blocks from Union Station.
My recent six night stay exceeded my expectations. The staff was absolutely fabulous. I can't say enough about Bryson. First, he upgraded my room and gave me complimentary WI-FI. When I ordered a mini-fridge he made sure it was promptly delivered. Whenever I saw him he addressed me by name and asked if there was anything I needed. Every staff member I encountered from valet to housekeeping was cordial. They made me feel welcomed and appreciated.

Loud Group

Posted Mar 18, 2015
Pros: I liked the proximity to Union Station and many local sights.
Cons: Housekeeping. When a placard is put on the door to clean the room, it shouldn't take until 2 or 4 pm to have the room cleaned.
Location: Union Station is only two blocks away and the Smithsonian is also close.
My stay was marred by the teenage group staying on the same floor with me. They were obnoxiously loud in the morning and late evening. When it came to housekeeping, they did a fine job once they showed up, but on several occasions I had purposely left the room for several hours only to find the room hadn't been cleaned when I returned. They then had to ask me to leave the room when they were ready to clean it.

Great location, friendly staff

You can't be at this location if you need to be on Capital Hill. All the staff at the front desk and front door were very helpful and friendly. Room was super clean. Note that asking for an exterior room may mean your view is of the rest of the building and the rooftop of lower level - nothing green.

Location Trumps All In The End

Posted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: The location was excellent and the staff was very accommodating for the most part.
Cons: The concierge needs to provide better communication on the Big Bus tours details. The buses should at least run until 5:30 when the buildings close.
Location: This hotel is ideally located for easy access to most attractions in DC. You can get around quickly and affordably. The 3 hour night tour is a must!
The hotel is conveniently located in walking distance of most of the attractions. There is also affordable dining at most of the museums, the Corner Café, or the Starbucks across the street. We would recommend that anyone going to DC take the 3 hour Night Tour offered by Loba Tours. You get plenty of time at all the major sites, and a lot of good information on the sites and their history. You can get tickets at the Concierge. You can get around town pretty easily from this hotel via cab or bus. The Concierge at the hotel can assist you with 24 or 48 hour passes to the Big Bus Tour lines, which pick up at the hotel. You should know that even though they say 24 or 48 hours, it's only good for the day you active it between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm (a party of 5 for 48 hours ran us $237 for the daytime only). They also offer a Night Tour, but we would strongly recommend the Loba 3 hour one instead (they are similar in price). The cab rides from Lincoln to the hotel were under $15 and 5-10 minutes - much more affordable than the Bus tickets. However, I would recommend the Big Bus Hop on Hop off pass as a day tour, their guides are very knowledgeable; just make sure you know they end at 4:30. Overall, the location and friendly staff made up for the crowded feeling of the rooms and the lack of detail often provided by the Concierge. We would stay here again just for the convenience of the location, but we would take a cab when needed over the buses.

Close to everything - Not so awesome service

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: Food. Within walking distance to where we were going.
Cons: Better valet service. Possibly a few complimentary items in the room worth having. A little bit can go a long way.
Location: Within walking distance to the Verizon Center, state capital, The National Mall, and smithsonian museums.
My fiance & I stayed here for one night when we came to DC to see a hockey game. It was within walking distance to the Verizon Center, and about a 20min walk to the museums/historic sites. It was a pretty okay stay. The room was up-to-date and clean, but the air in the room wasn't working very well. We had it on high and at the lowest setting, but were still sweating in our sleep (even without blankets on). We also had to wait a long time for valet to show up to the booth to retrieve our call from the valet parking deck. By the time they showed up and got our call pulled to the front, we could have just gone down and retrieved it ourselves. If they didn't already have my key, that's what we would've done. Just an FYI - valet parking is not included, and is $50 overnight. The only complimentary item in the room were earplugs, and coffee. No complimentary wifi, water, etc. We did order room service, and the gentleman we spoke with over the phone was polite and courteous. The food was delicious. Definitely a highlight of the hotel.

Pros: Location
Cons: Refrigerator, also lose the adultery reference it's insulting to woman.
No refrigerator. very disappointing! Lovely hotel. But the reference to "What if your Wife was like this" in the lobby, kinda insulting to woman.

Wonderfully convenient to Union Station. Very nice

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: The interior, the rooms, how crisp and clean the beds and bedding appeared to be.
Cons: More soundproof doors but fortunately even though we could hear everything anyone said through the door -- they left and all was quiet.
Location: Union Station with all its shops and restaurants, most of the museums are only about a 15 minute walk, China Town a stop away or walk 20min
We had a wonderful stay. We liked the beds, liked the décor, liked the location, liked the easy checkin and checkout. Breakfast around the corner ate at everyday. Nice bathrooms even though they were smaller than some, they were very nicely updated as was the room and the accommodations -- shampoo & soap was plentiful on the wall in dispensers. I was pleased to have coffee every day in my room.
