Good hotel - handy for main attractions

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Location was great for the main attractions but not so great for choice of restaurants and places to eat.
Cons: The WiFi was slow and limited to only 3 devices. Today most people have 2 or 3 devices so for a 4 person room a 3 device limit is a problem.
Location: Just a few minutes walk from most of the sites. 15 minutes from the white house and a little more to the Mall.
Hotel was pleasant and well situated. Staff are friendly enough. The newly opened bar /grill was nice enough with occasional live music in the evenings. Not much else going on in the immediate location especially in the evening.

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying with us recently and taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted that you had the opportunity to try out our new restaurant Rural Society. They have a fantastic menu with live music and happy hour daily from 4-7pm. I was surprised to read that you felt there was not much going on in the area as we are only a few short blocks to all of the new and exciting restaurants and hot spots on 14th St. I'm glad you enjoyed your time with us and we look forward to welcoming you again. Warm regards, Cheraz Ecker

We arrived well before the 4 pm check-in time but were given a room immediately with no issues. Room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Would absolutely stay here again.

Courteous staff and great location

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: I especially liked the cleanliness and look of elegance.
Cons: I know not every room can have a view but our view was poor. When we come to DC we are always hoping for a great view of the city but no luck.
Location: We walked to the White House and to several restaurants.... even a trip within walking distance to Whole Foods!!!
From the minute we arrived at the hotel, we were treated with such respect..... doors opened for us, a bellman to greet us and carry in our luggage, a fresh, clean room, and a great proximity to the metro, restaurants, and the White House.

Close to monuments

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Close to everything and very comfortable
Cons: Parking out front for valet was somewhat difficult as you were on the street!
Location: The hotel is a few blocks from the White House and all the museums.
Loews Madison Hotel is very nice and close to the monuments. The staff was very friendly. Our room was clean and very beautiful.

Nice hotel near main D.C. attractions.

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Easy walking distance to main D.C. attractions.
Cons: A laundry mat would be nice. The laundry service was not cheap.
Location: Most of the D.C. attractions were about 1 to 2 miles away. This included the Smithsonian Museums, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument.
Staff was very courteous. They greeted us very warmly each morning from the doorman to the restaurant staff. The hotel was within a one mile walking distance of most of the main attractions -- Smithsonian Museums, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, etc. The metro was about 3 blocks away and was handy to get to other attractions that were further away. The restaurant at the hotel had reasonable prices for breakfast depending on what you select. 2 eggs and toast was $9.00, oatmeal was $6.00. There are many eating places from high end to less expensive (e.g. Subway, McDonalds) within a few blocks.

Very helpful staff!

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: Size of room and Bathroom. Decent cupboard space
Location: A bit quiet over weekend, since it is in business district. Had the most fabulous "southern" meal at Georgia Brown's just a few blocks down 15th.
We had a small emergency with needing to get a doctor's prescription for my son's medication. It was good to know that not only reception staff and doorman do their job well, but it really goes beyond the norm!

I'm not rich but I felt like I was!

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Service and rooms - they were just excellent. We were in room 1009 and loved it! It had everything we needed and wanted it was just beautiful!
Location: If you're looking for something close by for dinner, try Mio Restarant about a block away. For breakfast, we went to the Corner Bakery.
The Madison Loews is so stylish! I love all the decor! More importantly, we received fantastic service and the rooms were plush and comfy! It was my husband and I's first trip to Washington DC and Madison Loews made it so memorable and enjoyable. After long days of walking in the summer heat, it was lovely to come back to deliciously air conditioned hotel with comfy carpet, king bed and clean bathroom. We'd arrived a little earlier than the check in time and although there was a tiny wait, we were welcomed warmly by Sylvia at the front desk. She was just so lovely, apologizing for a wait that wasn't long at all. We got to check in early and get into a very quiet, comfy room on the tenth floor facing the street (and getting afternoon sun into our room). She gave us so much local insight into the area such as breakfast places to go to and even managed to get us a reservation to acclaimed chef Jose Garces' restaurant opening that evening, which was absolutely divine! While the hotel is located a fair distance away (40 or so min walk) to the main attractions, we enjoyed the hotel for its style and luxurious comfort. I highly recommend staying here! I'm definitely staying again!

Very nice place to stay, decent location

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Room was nice, staff was nice, bathroom and shower was nice.
Cons: Location, if I were to do this again, I would get a place closer to the mall.
Location: A mile away from white house, not bad.
The hotel itself was almost perfect. The only downside was location. I was trying to pick a place in between the national mall and dupont circle, but since most of our time was at the mall, I think the better choice would have been a hotel near the national mall. Other than that, this place was very nice! No complaints at all!

Dear Sia, It was great to read that you felt our hotel was perfect. We take our guests' feedback very seriously and always look for ways to improve our service and amenities. It was nice to hear that you experienced this. While we are just a short walk from the National Mall, we do understand that if the majority of your time was spent there, other hotels could seem like a better location for your itinerary. We do appreciate all the kind words about our hotel and we hope that you will stay with us again the next time you are in DC. Kind regards, Cheraz Ecker
