Wonderful propertyPosted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Convenience, breakfasts.
Location: Convenient to everything. Close to the convention center, 2 miles from the mall, easy walking throughout the city. Some questionable housing close by
Owner was very pleasant. Location convenient. Delicious generous breakfasts allowed us to skip lunch each day. Can't beat the experience of a comfortable bed and breakfast to relax in in the center of the city hub bub

Excellent experiencePosted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: Beautiful building with fun decor and outstanding breakfast
Cons: Nothing - it was great
Location: Within a short walk to a conference center, shopping, food and a longer but feasible walk to the Capital and those sites. 3 blocks to metro.
Mt Vernon Square B&B is a wonderful find in DC. We prefer a B&B over a hotel anytime the cost is reasonable and the quality is high. Mt Vernon B&B was clean, very well appointed, reasonably priced, had parking and wifi, and the breakfast was outstanding. We would definitely stay there again. Easy to find and VERY easy to hit I 395 to leave the city. Keith took great care of us. Thanks!

Extremely nicePosted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: The attention and care given by the owners. Breakfast, condition and rooms were excellent
Cons: I cannot think of anything that needs to be improved
This was our first visit to Washington and we stayed on Mt Vernon BB for 5 days. The house is a big old Federal style one in ship shape condition, extremely comfortable, clean and roomy. The breakfast was extremely good, nicely cooked and served timely over beautiful china. You share the big table with the other guests and it was an occasion to chat and know people from many places. We enjoyed that very much. The attention and care given to us by Glenda and Keith during our stay there was outstanding. They were helpful, cordial and attentive to the extreme. The house is located in a block of old -by age, not by condition- houses some 4 blocks from the Metro station, 12 blocks to the Mall, 6 to Chinatown. The neighborhood seems safe enough and is very easy to move around from there. We mostly went to the Museums walking by 7th street (the house is in 4th) where you can find any type of restaurant or pub you would desire. We would highly recommend to anybody to stay a Mt Vernon BB. It will be an enjoyable experience.

Beautiful B & B in a good neighborhood.Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: The decor, the food, the staff, the good location.
Cons: The bed and pillows in the Copper room were uncomfortable and need to be replaced. Everything else was good.
Location: Close to the Metro, so most of Washington DC is accessible.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very delicious. The decor was beautiful. It is located close to the Metro so it is easy to access attractions. There were good restaurants within easy walking distance.

Recommended B&BPosted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: Very personal. Breakfast was great!
Location: Busboys & poets was a very good restaurant
Excellent period house. It is a bit of a walk to the mall but very much worth the location (near a few good restaurants & near a supermarket).

Wow! A brilliant change from ho-hum hotelsPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Our host was (and probably still is) amusing, gracious, informative and not intrusive. The house is a beauty. The location just far enough away.
Cons: Even more pillows! But that could just be me.
Location: Good restaurant recommendations from our host, and of course all that D.C. has to offer in the way of sightseeing. Plus off the beaten path delights.
One night and two days in D.C. First visit, wanted to see the sights, and relax in between adventures. This was the perfect backdrop. A brisk walk to all the sights through a revitalized neighborhood. Just a delight.

Beautiful old house and a great locationPosted Jun 12, 2014
The house is absolutely beautiful and has been restored to a very high standard. We stayed in the Cleopatra room which was huge and very comfortable with an excellent bathroom. Parking is very easy as there's space at the rear of the house and it's only $10 per night. The location is fantastic and takes only around 20 mins or so to walk to the sights. We went running in the mornings and made it to the Capitol building in about 10 mins.....it also helped to work off the amazing breakfast!! Keith the host is brilliant and really helped us with our first visit to DC. I highly recommend this b&b and would DEFINITELY stay here again.

After our long flight, We were welcomed by Keith at 11:00 pm, and given an overview and tour with 2 glasses of wine as well. Wonderfully cozy and incredible breakfasts. Keith even had maps and directions for us to get to our destinations . Hospitality and warm was amazing! We will visit again from California. Loved our stay!

An oasis of comfort.Posted Jun 4, 2014
Pros: It is luxurious without great expense.
Location: The neighborhood itself is old and interesting. Three blocks from the convention center/metro station and only a semi-long walk to the mall.
We came to sightsee and this B&B turned out to be one of the highlights.

We've spent a wonderful weekend in this hotel. Very clean, comfortable with breakfast included. A great place to stay for couples and families without children. The staff are extremely polite and nice.
