The room was nice but I felt the carpet was dirty. Good location for Union Square. Overall a good experience.

Central hotelPosted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: Position, comfort friendliness of the staff
Location: Just across the street from the station and the postal museum, you can walk to Capitol Hill, a few blocks down the street and the museums in the Mall
The Phoenix Hotel is in a great position just a couple of minutes from Union Station, so all the transport needed to get around the city are on your doorstep. The hotel is clean and the beds very comfortable, the staff are very helpful. A pub is attached to the hotel and has a good menu its also very popular with the locals early in the evening so it gets packed early on. Its a great place to stay and I will stay there again when I return to the city.

Home away from home...Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: This hotel is great because you have the option to go out and hit the town or stay in and go to The Dubliner and catch a really great night's sleep.
Location: The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the National Mall, Union Station, the Capitol building, and some nice residential areas.
I checked into the Phoenix Park Hotel on a Friday afternoon. The ladies and gentlemen at the reception desk were very friendly and efficient. My room was clean and, as I love historic hotels, was decorated to my taste. I had grand plans to hit the town that night, but I ended up getting 14 hours of completely uninterrupted sleep instead. After a long, hot shower and a wonderful supper, I fell asleep on the very comfortable bed. I had had a very hard week and didn't realize how tired I was. My room was on the 9th floor and it was remarkably quiet for being right near the Capitol building. The next morning, I went down to The Dubliner and had some of the best french toast that I've ever had. The coffee was rich, hot, and plentiful and the servers were friendly and helpful. Checkout was easy and I only had to walk about a block to retrieve my car from Union Station's parking garage.

Great hotel a block from the subway.Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: Proximity to the metro, a fun Irish pub and nicest staff ever!
Location: Easy access to Georgetown, Old Town Alexandria, the Smithsonians and excellent bars and restaurants.
The hotel staff is so helpful with site seeing ideas and directions. The location could not be better. It is in a safe area with a great Irish pub with the best Guinness I've had outside Ireland. The beds are incredibly comfortable, something you would expect in a 5 star hotel.

My stay at Phoenix Park HotelPosted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Close to Metro station
Cons: Make the in room safes big enough for laptops to fit into.
Location: Down the street from the US Capitol Building and across the street from the Metro station.
The hotel is very close (right across the street) from the Union Station/Metro station and the National Postal Museum. Also down the street from Walmart. The staff was pleasant and even though I know there were other guests staying on the same floor as me it was very quiet. I would stay there again.

very close to metro at union stationPosted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: Great location, good service.
Location: Across the street from the Postal museum. You can create your own stamp over there. Walking distance to the capitol
we had room 520, no view, not close to elevator or road, so there was no noise. The room was small but had a king size bed and bath with a vanity, so it had what we needed. Great location, a block from union station were there are stops to bus city tours such as the Big Bus and the city sights. Had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was good.
