“Great Hotel”
Staff was friendly, room was very clean and the FRE Continental Breakfast was awesome
“A no-frills that still delivers on its promises”
First of all, this is not a luxury hotel. So things like a bell boy, concierge or other amenities offered by +4-star hotels don't exist there. However, if your objective is to have a clean place to crash at the end of a long day, so this is perfect. The breakfast is definitely on th elight side; it's also mostly unhealthy stuff that I don't care for (bagel, bread, fried sausages). But some people find it OK. I usually got a yougurt and a glass of milk. In any case there are othere eating places nearby. The room itself is decent. Howeve,r if you get the room with 2 double beds, be careful. The beds are NOT double beds. They are full beds and I have seen many hotels passing full beds as double beds. I am sure it's not because they don't know the difference: they just "hope" their guests won't notice. But it does make a difference if you are sharing a full bed ainstad of a double bed. But overall, it's a fairly decent hotel in an OK neighborhood. Given that it's not far from DC, one can save hundreds by staying there and using the metro bus to get to DC.
“Cheap stay- Clean”
The place is ok, but don't be looking for your 24 hour getaway. On weekend nights ppl are yelling at 2-3am in the morning and it can be quite scary. In the A.M. around 11-noon the staff is yelling at others in spanish... I hear a lot of numbers so I assume they are discussing rooms that need to be cleaned and what not... However, if you are staying for extended time period and would not like to be bothered, it can be rough. You hear them yelling outside your room and all hopes of sleeping-in are out the window. Then you and your lover/friend/spouse decide to go to IHop (right next to the hotel) to indulge yourself in some high caloric, high fat, and amazingly delicious processed foods. After digestion, you discuss if that was a good idea or not. Then the free WiFi believes you to think that watching a movie on might be a good idea, however, the internet doesn't work well. If you think pausing the movie every 10-20 minutes or so to give it time to load is hot, then by all means this is the place for you. Watching the Pixar animation of "Up" in 10-20 minute increments gets me going every time. Then about 2am when the drunkies staryt yelling you and your lover/friend/spouse can dim the lights and try to see who is outside. Make sure you lock the dead bolts because they could be coming for you ;-)... SO much fun :-)
“What you expect for the price”
Hotel was in poor condition but it's what I expected for the price.
“good for the rate”
it was good enough for the rate
“Don't bother to stay here!”
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. They were not very friendly up front, they did not have my room ready two hours past check-in time and were unable to find another room we could stay in for almost 1/2 and hour! The continetal breakfast was weak at best, with the standard fair. The location of this hotel is questionable at best. The only reason I chose this for my family and I was it's "closeness" to downtown DC. The neighborhood was what I would call "seedy".
“Not impressed”
Rooms smelled terrible the cleaning ladies work very hard. However, the building is outdated and needs much maintenance.
“Quality Inn, Takoma Park”
The hotel is basic, clean, and adequate for overnight stays in which the hotel is not the destination. The price is reasonable. We'd go back there.
