Questionable ActivityPosted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: The price....
Cons: Friendlier staff and higher expectations for them to at least look busy instead of sitting around the check in office staring out the window.
Location: The location seemed great online but was pretty sketchy upon arrival.
I ended up not staying here after checking out my room, noticing the amount of people walking around the property, and deciding that the unfriendly nature of the girl at the front desk was not worth dealing with. I told her I change my mind and went to stay at the Red Roof in Alexandria.

Bad ServicePosted Jul 26, 2013
Disrespectful staff. Enters room without knocking. Plugged bath tub and sink for days, though got a little discount as a result. Reluctance of staff to clean room. Ask if we wanted to change bedding ourselves. Never cleaned room through the five days at property. Staff making out in front of customers.

Cheapie on the beltway.Posted May 30, 2013
Pros: the desk staff seemed nice, and politely canceled the room.
Cons: might as well make it an all smoking hotel, since i saw the cleaning staff smoking while cleaning rooms.
Location: its DC. Lanham isnt the prettiest neighborhood.
i was shown 2 different rooms before giving up and finding a holiday inn. Rooms were poorly kept, and reeked of smoke. they seemed a good "on the surface" clean, but corners were dirty, etc. when i informed the desk staff about the condition of the first room, and that it reeked of pot, they were sympathetic, but honestly didnt seem surprised. the hotel is supposed to be recently renovated, but it looks either poorly done, or not very recent.

Don't stay here!Posted May 20, 2013
My husband and I stayed here for a birthday weekend trip to DC. Though Lanham is relatively close to DC (20 minute drive without traffic) the hotel was terrible. The room smelled HORRID, We even cleaned out the air conditioner filter and bought air fresheners but ot could not compete with the cigarette/marijuana/musty smell of the room. The sheets and towels had what appeared to be blood stains on them. Though the hotel staff were relatively friendly but were culturally very different from myself (they were rough around the edges). Next came the other inhabitants of the hotel- the police Ended up coming on our last night because there was a group of about 10 youth all fighting and hanging outside the hotel I'm usually very easy going and have never written a hotel review in my life but of this will spare only one person from another bad experience it was Worth my time. Do yourself a favor and pay more money to stay elsewhere.

Don't want to stay here!Posted May 3, 2013
Location: Slum area
Unsafe. Unclean. Slum area of town! Really unsafe. Door jambs had been jimmied from outside. Many rooms where people were drinking and partying with the doors open.

Worst hotel you get what you pay forPosted Apr 30, 2013
Cons: The check in experience
The service was trouble at check in if she doesn't like her job she shouldn't be there. The bathroom was super dirty l I just couldn't wait for the night to be over.

Not Hardly Smoke FreePosted Feb 25, 2013
The signs posted in the lobby advertise it as being a "Smoke Free" Hotel but soon as you enter the room it smelled like the room had been occupied by 20 people smoking all day in there. The funny thing is they make you sign a document at check in stating if you smoke in the room you would be charged an extra fee for damages. This was a pretty big issue since my spouse and I do not smoke. But the front desk clerk did come up and sprayed the room with air freshener which made it tolerable. The other issues were the paint was peeling in the bathroom and to top it all off the maintenance man had to break us out of the room. The door lock was jammed and after about 40 min. of them trying to unlock the door the maintenance man had to break the window out and my family and I had to climb out thru the window. Other then the staff which was helpful this place was very disappointing.

If you like cigarette smoke, the "Chimney Inn" forPosted Feb 20, 2013
Pros: Front desk very professional.
Cons: Reeks of cigarette smoke.
Location: Location is good, b/c accessible to highway; plenty of parking.
Staff is very professional. Although, it states that it's a non-smoking hotel, the entire place reeks of smoke. Not recommended for families. Maybe for male construction/truck drivers.
