“The room is good”
The room is good and satisfactiory
“Excellent Hotel but...”
Only one complaint: wireless access cost an additional $10 per day which I find excessive. The alternative was to use the computers in the Business Center which was fine except nearly always occupied, plus poorly lit making it difficult to see the keyboard.
“Good old hotel with character”
I have stayed at the Churchill Hotel many time, and I am always happy with my experience. The definite draw is location - it is conveniently located between Dupont and Adams Morgan, great for night life and also for many business options (I work near the Golden Triangle and could walk easily to work every day). The staff is lovely and responsive. The only reason I gave some elements 4 rather than 5 stars is that the room temperature was difficult to control. Because it is an old hotel, they can only turn on either the heat or AC for the entire building, which left my room warmer than I would have liked. However, the staff responded quickly when I alerted them of this issue. Across the board, it was a great stay and I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
“churchell hotel review”
excellent hotel for price, only complaint i have is the over priced menu.
“Excellent location near Dupont Circle Restaurants”
This hotel is directly across the street from the Washington Hilton. I have also stayed at the Hilton, and the staff at The Churchill were more attentive and friendlier. This is a true boutique hotel with four star service. We had breakfast two days at the Churchill as well. The dining room was elegant, the food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the price was reasonable. There is an excellent wine bar about a block away that has great wine by the glass plus cheese, chocolates and sandwiches. Another half a block and you can choose from the fine Dupont Circle area restaurants for great food. I personally recommend Le Bistro du Coin, which is a traditional French bistro, but there are so many good restaurants in the area it is hard to choose. Dupont Circle also offers many fine stores for shopping, as it is one of the more desireable areas for living in DC. The Metro and bus lines are both close, and the neighborhood is great for walking. I will definitely stay here again, it is the best value for the price I have had in a DC hotel.
“A very nice hotel”
Good quality of hotel service. Clean and comfortable rooms. I am very satisfied.
“Charming hotel”
A cozy, charming hotel. Our room need a few minor cosmetic touch ups, but the size and cleanliness was wonderful. The staff was courteous and helpful. Delightful nice touches. We will definitely return for future stays.
“Great rooms and location!”
Excellent, will be happy to go back!
“So So”
Very convenient location and beautiful historic building but needs updating. Staff not friendly or particularly helpful.
“Great Hotel, Great Service”
I was very impressed with my stay. I am native to DC and now live in the suburbs. I travel to large cities often. Compared to large chains, the service was more personalized, very fast, everyone was beyond polite and eager to meet my needs. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the city while receiving great boutique hotel service. I know the hotel is older, but it's been totally redone inside and looks gorgeous and brand new. I'd stay here in a second!!!
